Gravitas Ventures Acquires "Bleeding Heart" Starring Jessica Biel and Zosia Mamet

The film will hit VOD November 3 and Select Theaters on December 11

Los Angeles, CA (September 11, 2015) — Gravitas Ventures has secured North American rights to “Bleeding Heart”, a thriller written and directed by Diane Bell and starring Jessica Biel and Zosia Mamet, which premiered in April at the Tribeca Film Festival. Gravitas will release the film on demand November 3 followed by a theatrical release on December 11.

“Bleeding Heart” follows the story of May (Biel), a yoga instructor who finds herself behaving in ways she'd never have imagined herself, in an effort to protect her newly discovered sister, Shiva (Mamet) from a less than savory boyfriend. Kate Burton (“Grey’s Anatomy”), Edi Gathegi (“X-Men: First Class”) and Joe Anderson (“Hannibal”) also star.

“We’re looking forward to growing our relationship with the team at Gravitas,” said Producer Jonathan Schwartz. “I have been impressed by how far ahead of the curve this company has been.”

“The performances from Jessica Biel, Zosia Mamet and the rest of the ‘Bleeding Heart’ cast are tense, authentic, and had me holding my breath,” said Nolan Gallagher, Founder and CEO of Gravitas Ventures. “We are excited to be attached to such a compelling film from Diane Bell, a stand-out talent at Tribeca this year.”

Bell previously wrote and directed “Obselidia” which was nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards. “Bleeding Heart” is produced by Super Crispy’s Jonathan Schwartz (“Like Crazy”), Andrea Sperling (“Addicted to Fresno”) and Greg Ammon (“Stockholm, Pennsylvania”). Audrey and Zygi Wilf (“Like Crazy”) and Dan Halsted (“Learning to Drive”) are the Executive Producers.

The deal was negotiated by Nolan Gallagher, Founder and CEO, Gravitas Ventures and by Alex Saks at ICM Partners and attorney Lawrence Kopeikin of Morris Yorn on behalf of the filmmakers.
