"Cyber Dynamite" -- Virtual Napoleon Dynamite Cast Reunion To Benefit The Hunger Project

"Cyber Dynamite"

Virtual Napoleon Dynamite Cast Reunion

To Benefit The Hunger Project

Key cast members of the 2004 comedy film "Napoleon Dynamite" will be reuniting virtually in a special pre-recorded program available at 5:00 pm PST/8:00 pm EST on December 4 on YouTube. The hosted reunion will be the first time many of the cast have interacted since the film first burst out of the Sundance Film Festival and became an international smash.

Jon Heder (Napoleon), Efren Ramirez (Pedro), Jon Gries (Uncle Rico), Tina Majorino (Deb), Haylie Duff (Summer) and, Shondrella Avery (LaFawnduh) are joined by several other surprise cast members for the program. The event will also serve as a fundraiser for The Hunger Project (thp.org) to end hunger worldwide.

Entitled "Cyber Dynamite" due to its virtual nature, the online reunion follows in the footsteps of other recent pop culture online reunions, and while it will be free to view, donations are being sought to support The Hunger Project. In addition, a select group of special items from some of the cast will be available by raffle to donors contributing $75 or more. Item descriptions are available on The Hunger Project's event page:

https://thp.org/events/cyber-dynamite-napoleon-dynamite-benefit-reunion/

About Napoleon Dynamite:

The quirky 2004 comedy directed by Jared Hess was purchased by Fox Searchlight after its Sundance Film Festival debut and grossed over $46 million on a $400k budget. The film became a cult classic and spawned an animated series on Fox in 2012.

About The Hunger Project:

PORFLE VS. NETWORK TELEVISION EXECUTIVES -- Fiction By Porfle

When I was approached by the three major television networks to do a series, my first thought was: "What unmitigated gall these silly bastards have--daring to address me as though they were equals." My indignance was temporarily assuaged when they referred to me as "Your Holiness", but then I noticed that they were merely on their knees instead of sprawled out facedown in total supplication to me. This really irked me, and I was compelled to release several gallons of molten lead that I keep handy in large swiveled urns around the house. Panic-stricken, they screamed and backed into corners and onto the furniture to keep from being incinerated, which I found so amusing that I actually decided to entertain their pathetic pleas for my participation in some sort of television program. But the first subject on the table, of course, would be my list of demands.

"First of all," I firmly announced, "I want peanuts. All kinds. Salted, unsalted, dry roasted, boiled, raw, all shapes and sizes. I want a variety of every kind of peanuts in the entire world at my disposal at all times. Every time I hold out my hand, even if I have my eyes closed, I should be able to grab a handful of peanuts. Do you get that? Peanuts! PEANUTS!"

Vincent Buggatti, head of programming for ABC, was the first to hastily jot this down in his notepad. This seemed to be a point in ABC's favor until I noticed that Phyllis van Buren, head of programming for NBC, was already on her cell phone to the CEO of the World Peanut Federation, ensuring me a perpetual lifetime supply of peanuts, truckloads of them, twenty-four hours a day, delivered by movie stars and prostitutes. I made a mental note of this.

Meanwhile, Brendan Gilhooley, the boy genius of CBS who had turned the network from a boring wasteland of old-people shows into a fantasy wonderland of brain-rotting crap for teenagers to watch while getting stoned and whacking off, was still struggling with the concept. "Peanuts?" he muttered with a perplexed look. "Why? With the whole world at your demand, with anything you could possibly ever dream of merely a wish away, why in god's name would you ask for something as trivial and inconsequential as--"

Taking the liberty of interrupting him by releasing a horde of rabid, flesh-eating warthogs, I watched with mild interest as Gilhooley scrambled for his life, first by trying to outrun the carniverous fiends, and then by leaping onto a chandelier and dangling precariously over the slavering beasts for dear life, screaming in mindless terror.

"What do you think about peanuts now?" I asked.

"Yes! YES!" he screamed. "They're GREAT!!!"

"I thought so." With a casual wave of my hand, the warthogs obediently retreated through their secret sliding wall panels. Gilhooley nervously climbed down from the chandelier as Buggatti and van Buren smirked at him like schoolchildren.

"My second demand--"

At this, all three instantly sprang to attention in front of me, their notepads, cell phones, and laptops at the ready. I opened my mouth to speak, and van Buren hastily croaked into her phone, "He's opening his mouth to speak!" The unbearable suspense caused Gilhooley to have a massive heart attack and croak right there on the spot. Buggatti, meanwhile, was having an out-of-body experience and was observing the scene from somewhere near the ceiling.

"My second demand," I continued, " is that everyone else who works at the network of my choice, whether in an acting or production capacity, must walk around stark naked all day--"

The two surviving network executives instantly began tearing their clothes off. After a few moments of ripping sounds and flying scraps of material they both stood there naked as jaybirds, bug-eyed and hyperventilating as they trembled in anticipation of my next utterance.

"--and they must also hop around clucking like chickens."

"BAAAAAWK!!! BWAAAAAWK!!!" they shrieked while hopping jerkily around the room, hands lodged in their armpits as they made flapping motions and darted their heads back and forth. With a bright smile of childlike amusement, I reached into a bag of chicken feed that I kept handy for such occasions and spread a few handfuls on the floor. "BWAAAAARK!" Buggatti and van Buren cried in unison as they sprawled onto the meticulously-polished teak floorboards and started pecking hungrily at the chicken feed, their bare butts bobbing up and down in the air.

Suddenly, Gilhooley opened his eyes and sat up groggily. "Oh my god," he said, his voice filled with wonder. "I just died, and...and experienced the afterlife..." As he spoke, a heavenly light seemed to shine down and cast his face in its otherworldly glow. "Everyone was there," he said wistfully, "beckoning me to join them...it was b-beautiful..." Tears streamed down his cheeks. "And then...a deep, wonderful voice said to me, 'Brendan, it isn't your time yet.' And, and then..." He looked around and saw what was going on. "Oh, SH**!" he cried, ripping his clothes off and joining the others as they clucked insanely and pecked at the chicken feed. "BAAAAAWK! BWAAAAAWK!" he shrieked.

Well, needless to say, I had no intention of participating in some stupid television program, but I'd found it momentarily entertaining to toy with these network executives for a brief time until they became boring and I had all three summarily ejected from my home by burly armed bodyguards. They were hesitant to leave at first, but the warthogs soon encouraged them to scramble into their limosines, still stark naked and covered with chicken feed. In the desperate hope that I might change my mind, they were still hopping around in their seats naked and clucking as loudly as possible out the open windows as their chauffeurs drove them away. After that, I made a salami and cheese sandwich and watched my hidden camera videos of the whole thing, which of course would be posted on the Internet the next day, before I grew tired of this and popped in a "Howdy Doody" DVD. It had been quite a nice day, and as I drifted peacefully off to sleep that night, I dreamt of human chickens.

One of the most neglected American writers and also one of the best loved, novelist Nelson Algren wrote about the dark underbelly of post-war America before it was ever fashionable to do so.

Best known for the novel The Man with the Golden Arm, Algren was a bard of the down-and-outer, writing about Chicago—his Chicago—boldly depicting the life of the city’s drunks, pimps, prostitutes, drug addicts, corrupt politicians, and hoodlums.

On what would have been his 100th birthday, a group of actors and writers gathered at the acclaimed Steppenwolf Theater to premiere Nelson Algren Live—an onstage reading and celebration of Algren’s life and work in his own words.

Barry Gifford seamlessly steps into Algren’s voice like he’s putting on an old coat, while Willem Dafoe’s stunning performance of a punch-drunk prizefighter ignites a newly unearthed story.

"SILENT HILL: ECHOES" NEW 2021 RELEASE DATE -- New Fan Film Based on the Horror Game From Konami

SILENT HILL: ECHOES NEW 2021 RELEASE DATE

New Fan Film Based on the Horror Game From Konami

“Silent Hill: Echoes,” a new fan film based on the horror game from Konami, was scheduled for release this November 27th. After a great reaction from fans, the makers of the movie decided to reshoot certain scenes. “We listen to the feedback,” says co-producer Ken Cosentino, “Once we saw how big the audience was, based on their response we knew we could do better and they deserve better. We agree with their input so we went back for reshoots.” Due to a major outbreak of COVID-19 in Western New York, the reshoots were suddenly postponed.

Creator and DP Codey Dingfield was disappointed but optimistic, saying that it was an easy decision, “At the end of the day we’re bummed because we wanted to roll this out, but the health and wellness of everyone comes first.” Right now Western New York is the virus hot spot of New York State, with parts of Erie and Niagara County in the orange and yellow zones.

“It’s no joke here,” says Cosentino with a nod. He’s right - the infection rate for Erie County has reached 20,889 and climbing every day with a 6.9% positive daily rate. The Buffalo-Niagara regional film industry has recently seen a boom in production, from Paramount Pictures “A Quiet Place 2” to Guillermo Del Toro’s “Nightmare Alley.” Cosentino, CEO of Niagara Falls based White Lion Studios, LLC, is no stranger to overcoming adversity on a film set.

As a veteran filmmaker and alumni of both Troma and The Asylum, Ken is known as a “fixer” and a hired-gun. “This is exactly the kind of shit I expect to happen,” says Cosentino, “On Atlantic Rim we got hit by a hurricane and a bunch of people got sick, plus a lot of other stuff I’m not supposed to talk about.” As for the new Silent Hill fan film, he jokes “We’ll just scrap it and make a whole different movie, one that’s way better.”

“Silent Hill: Echoes” is scheduled for reshoots in the early spring of next year. It will be available on YouTube in 2021.

"THE MARK OF THE BELL WITCH" Will Haunt Audiences December 15

"The Mark of the Bell Witch" Haunts the Holidays

New Docudrama Comes 200 Years After the Death of John Bell in Tennessee

Dramatized Retelling of the Bell Witch’s Reign of Terror Lands December 15 on Digital HD

Wadsworth, OH -- Small Town Monsters has announced the Digital HD, Blu-ray and DVD release of their latest investigative docudrama, The Mark of the Bell Witch. Noted urban legend documentarian Seth Breedlove (The Mothman Legacy) describes the film as a dramatized retelling of the entire sordid tale of the merciless spirit who tormented the Bell family from 1817 to 1821 in Adams, Tennessee.

The Mark of the Bell Witch arrives just ahead of the 200th anniversary of John Bell’s death, whose mysterious passing in December 1820 cemented the legend of the Bell Witch in American folklore. The Mark of the Bell Witch will be available to rent or own on Amazon Instant Video, Vimeo OnDemand, DVD and VIDI Space starting December 15th. Blu-ray and DVD copies will be available exclusively from the STM Shop.

The Mark of the Bell Witch - Trailer (New Paranormal Ghost Haunting Horror)

The Mark of the Bell Witch is the first attempted documentary of the famed piece of Appalachian folklore. The story of the Bell family who encountered mysterious sounds in their home, eventually becoming a full-blown apparition who terrorized them for almost five years, is still taught in Tennessee schools today. Considered to be one of the only known cases of murder committed by a “ghost” in American history, the story of John Bell’s poisoning at the hands of the witch has been the subject of numerous television shows, books, songs, and even a horror film.

However, previous filmed interpretations of the events left out large portions of the legend, or simply adapted the events to their needs. In the hands of Small Town Monsters, there will be a historically minded approach to the telling of the case, as well as a dive into how the haunting has affected the local culture of Adams, Tennessee.

The Mark of the Bell Witch is directed by Seth Breedlove and produced by Adrienne Breedlove. Narration is covered by genre actress Lauren Ashley Carter (Darlin’, Pod), with Zac Palmisano in the role of director of photography. Santino Vitale and SRV Films supplied VFX and Brandon Dalo (The Mothman Legacy) provided an original score. Amy Davies and Thomas Koosed headline the film in the lead roles of Elizabeth Bell and John Bell Sr, accompanied by Aaron Gascon, Sue Matzke, Grayden Nance and Mark Matzke. Adrienne Breedlove appears as the Bell Witch.

The Mark of the Bell Witch tells the terrifying, true story of the Bell family of Adams, Tennessee. A family who, for nearly five years, were haunted by an apparition bent on destroying their lives, and murdering the patriarch of the family, John Bell. Beginning in 1817 as a disembodied voice before eventually manifesting into numerous entities and showing her power through horrifying encounters, the Bell Witch has since become a folk legend.

Now, for the first time, learn the truth behind what actually took place during one of the most famous hauntings in American history.

Solstice Studios Takes Worldwide Rights On Gerard Butler Action Thriller "THE PLANE"

SOLSTICE STUDIOS TAKES WORLDWIDE RIGHTS ON GERARD BUTLER ACTION THRILLER THE PLANE

LOS ANGELES, November 13, 2020 – Solstice Studios has acquired worldwide rights to the elevated action thriller The Plane starring Gerard Butler (Greenland, Angel Has Fallen) and is targeting a June 28, 2021 production start date. The film will be produced by Di Bonaventura Pictures’ Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian, MadRiver Pictures’ Marc Butan, and Butler and Alan Siegel under their G-BASE banner.

This is the first of several projects to come between di Bonaventura and Solstice Studios, who will finance, distribute the film in the U.S. and handle international, including servicing the international distribution deals made by MadRiver International when the project was first announced at AFM 2019.

Based on a story by Charles Cumming and Christian Gudegast, with a script by Charles Cumming, JP Davis and a recently revised draft by James Coyne, The Plane follows commercial airline pilot Ray Torrance (Butler) who heroically lands his storm-damaged aircraft on a remote jungle island in the Philippines, only to find himself stranded in a lawless war zone and the newfound target of ruthless pirates gunning to take the plane and its passengers hostage. As the world searches for the missing aircraft amidst a growing media frenzy, Ray must keep his passengers alive long enough to be found or to find a way out.

The deal was negotiated by Butan, di Bonaventura and Schuyler Moore of Greenberg Glusker with Solstice’s Mark Gill and Karen Barna.

Butler is currently in production on Cop Shop and is fresh off Ric Roman Waugh’s Greenland, which opened successfully abroad and will be released in the US next month. He previously starred in Angel Has Fallen, which was the final installment in the highly successful Olympus Has Fallen trilogy, which Solstice Studios CEO Mark Gill produced.

Solstice’s first film, Unhinged, starring Academy Award Winner Russell Crowe was the first new movie back in US theaters in August and to date is closing in on $43M at the worldwide box office. The studio also recently acquired Joe Bell starring Academy Award nominee Mark Wahlberg.
