Hopalong Cassidy Being A Total Bada** #4 ("Hopalong Cassidy Returns", 1936) (video)




Hoppy (William Boyd) has his hands full as the new sheriff of a wide open town.

This includes keeping his younger brother Buddy (William Janney) out of trouble.

But it also puts him on the wrong side of a crooked saloon owner (Grant Richards) and his hired gun (Morris Ankrum).

(This film would be remade in 1941 as "Wide Open Town.")

Robert Mitchum's Film Debut In A Hopalong Cassidy Western (video)




Robert Mitchum's first featured role was in "Hoppy Serves A Writ" (1943).

He was billed as "Bob Mitchum" and played an outlaw named Rigney. 

He would go on to appear in the series several more times.
