TERROR FILMS Teams with FILMISNOW for the Release of Twenty-Three Horror Titles!

Los Angeles, CA (April 28th, 2021) – Indie genre distributor TERROR FILMS has teamed with YouTube AVOD platform FILMISNOW, for the release of a wide horror film slate.

FILMISNOW is a leading European YouTube network that encompasses ten movie-related channels. Combined, the channels have a total of over 8.5 million subscribers! They are an international company that specializes in movie-related content including: production, distribution, and movie marketing - in four different languages. FILMISNOW entered the AVOD market at the beginning of 2020 and already has over 300 titles online, with more on the way.

Terror Films' President Joe Dain spoke of this partnership, recently. Dain says of the new team: “this is one of many steps we have been taking to pave the way for: more direct platform relationships, to expand our digital footprint and to improve revenue streams for our filmmakers. This collaboration also helps us chip away at our need for 3rd party film aggregators."

The initial launch will consist of twenty-three films from this genre label’s library. The intial film slate will include fan favorites such as The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014), Inner Demon (2014) and Hell House LLC (2015).  As well, TERROR FILMS’ original productions, The Chosen (2015) and Trace (2015), will be included in this original slate. A promotional banner has been provided by TERROR FILMS, to show the entire catalogue, which will be moving to FILMISNOW, shortly.

As Star Wars fans, we all love Porkins.

Poor, doomed Porkins, who gave his life just for our momentary entertainment.

He deserves more.

He deserves for his courageous demise to be set to music and watched 42 times in a row.

LOS ANGELES – April 26, 2021- Fathom Events is set to bring Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Stand By Me to select movie theaters nationwide on Sunday, May 23rd at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Wednesday, May 26th at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. (all times local) for the celebrated 1986 coming-of-age classic’s 35th anniversary. Starring Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, Jerry O'Connell, Kiefer Sutherland and directed by Rob Reiner, and based on the novella "The Body" by Stephen King, with a screenplay by Raynold Gideon and Bruce A. Evans, Stand By Me is a rare and special film about friendship and the indelible experiences of growing up.

This special 35th anniversary event will also include the featurette “Walking the Tracks: The Summer of Stand by Me” with Stephen King as he recalls what led him to write the stories of his childhood, how they impacted the development of the movie, and Rob Reiner as he reminisces about the casting of the four leads.

Tickets for the Stand By Me 35th Anniversary are on sale now at www.FathomEvents.com and through participating cinemas’ box offices. For the most updated list of exhibiting movie theaters, visit the Fathom Events website. (Theaters and participants are subject to change).

Filled with humor and suspense, Stand By Me is the tale of four boys on a two-day journey. In a treehouse at the edge of Castle Rock, a small, woodsy Oregon town, a budding 12-year-old writer named Gordie LaChance (Wheaton) is about to begin an extraordinary trek into the heart of the northwestern forest, an experience that will alter the course of his life forever. His best friend Vern (O'Connell) has overheard his older brother and a friend talking about their discovery of a dead body in the woods.

Hoping they can get credit for finding the body, Gordie sets off with insecure, frightened Vern, tough guy Chris (Phoenix), and daredevil Teddy (Feldman) on an adventure that becomes an odyssey of self-discovery. Their journey begins innocently with a dream of becoming town heroes, but before it is over, Gordie, Chris, Teddy, and Vern will be tested in ways they had never imagined.

“Stand By Me on its 35th anniversary is still as touching and as fresh as it was when first released back in 1986,” said Tom Lucas, VP of Studio Relations at Fathom Events. "Whether seeing it for the very first time on the big screen, or revisiting it as a favorite, movie fans will be moved by Stand By Me at their local theater.”

Many of the fantastic lots from the Feref Archive and Bryan Fuller collection sold exceptionally well, along with some great results from many of the Star Wars and Mondo posters. We saw some excellent bidding from across the globe and can’t wait for our next poster auction in December.”

Mark Hochman, Prop Store’s poster expert, also commented on the auction: "Prop Store's April poster auction proved to be a special event and more successful than we could have hoped for in the current circumstances with Part One of the Feref Archive Collection proving incredibly popular and very well received. There were certainly some impressive sale prices achieved across the whole auction with the Bryan Fuller Collection and Alternative Movie Poster content smashing our pre-estimate valuations. We knew our Star Wars selection was special, so we saved the best until last and the spectacular results prove us right.”

Beautiful End Credits Music For "VALLEY OF GWANGI" (1969) by Jerome Moross (video)

Jerome Moross was the genius behind such musical scores as "The Big Country", "The War Lord", and "Wagon Train."

One of his most rousing and robust scores was for the Ray Harryhausen dinosaur western "The Valley of Gwangi."

Here is the beautiful romantic theme he wrote for the the end cast credits, which sends the movie off on a high note.

ARROW to Release Haunted Road Trip Thriller "THRESHOLD" May 3 in the US, Canada and the UK -- Watch Trailer HERE!

ARROW Offers Classic and Cutting Edge Cult Cinema

Supernatural Thriller Threshold Streaming May 3
Festival Favorite Shot Entirely on Two iPhones

"a remarkable example of ingenuity, creativity and genuine heart" -- Rue Morgue

"Powell Robinson and Patrick R Young's charming no-budget cult movie takes a fragile sibling bond for a funny, freaky test drive." -- VODZilla

London, UK - Arrow Video is excited to announce the ARROW release of Powell Robinson and Patrick R. Young's acclaimed Threshold, available to subscribers in the US, Canada and the UK. The haunted road trip thriller world premiered at the Salem Horror Fest in October and made its European premiere at Soho Horror Film Festival in November. On May 3, ARROW subscribers in the US, Canada and the UK can go on a trip with Threshold from the comfort of their homes.

Threshold, the second feature from co-directors Powell Robinson, Patrick R. Young and producer Lauren Bates, following their debut Bastard (2015), was improvised and shot on two iPhones over the course of a 12-day road trip with a crew of just three. The results are an inventive and compelling psychological thriller with hints of the supernatural that recalls such indie cult classics as Ben Wheatley’s Kill List (2011) and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead’s Resolution (2013).

WATCH THE TRAILER:

Patrick R. Young commented: “We’re excited to have Threshold join the Arrow family. This is a deeply personal project, and we couldn’t imagine better caretakers than these cult, genre, bizarro film-loving cine-freaks. Our only hope is that this gives people a chance to connect with our actor’s characters as much as we have.”

Powell Robinson commented: “We set out to make Threshold with two goals: tell a very intimate story which all of us could put a piece of ourselves into, and also to inspire others to do the same. Arrow is the perfect platform to get this in front of the right someone who just needed a small push to hit the road with a tight-knit crew and do the same.”

ARROW will be home to a number of exclusive extras for Threshold, including a directors’ intro to the film, a directors' and editor feature commentary, a cast and crew feature commentary, The Making of Threshold featurette, behind the scenes featurettes, and more.

When a phone call from out of the blue brings Leo (Joey Millin) back into contact with his sister, Virginia (Madison West), long estranged from her family due to years of drug abuse, he arrives to find her alone in a bare apartment in the midst of an apparent overdose. After the convulsions and nausea subside, Virginia insists to Leo that she has been clean for 8 months due to the help of a mysterious group.

She confides to her cynical brother that her edginess and paranoia actually stem from a sinister ritual conducted by the group that took her in at her lowest and eventually revealed themselves to be a cult. This curse bound her emotions and physical sensations to a man she has never met before.

With his marriage on the rocks, Leo has his own demons to face. Nonetheless, he is reluctantly persuaded by Virginia to embark on a cross-country road trip to track down this shadowy stranger under the caveat that if he's nowhere to be found and it's all in her head, she'll go to rehab. However, as their date with destiny draws nearer, Leo begins to suspect his sister’s tall tale might have some substance.

A Man Turns His Quarter-Life Crisis Into a Hunt for Bigfoot in "APE CANYON", on VOD April 16

Join the Hunt for Bigfoot in "APE CANYON" April 16

A Cryptozoological Dramedy Follows Two Siblings on the Trail of Sasquatch

A Quarter-Life Crisis Leads them Deep in the Woods to Find a Legend and Each Other

Available Nationwide on Cable VOD and Digital HD

Los Angeles, CA -- When your life is at an impasse, head to the woods and look for Bigfoot. Joshua Land's Ape Canyon follows Cal Piker, a commercial artist on the verge of an implosion. He won’t say why, but he needs to find Ape Canyon, and he needs his big sister Samantha to save him from the increasingly reckless things he will do to get there.

Jackson Trent (Bad Witch) and Anna Fagan (I Like Me) headline the zoological cryptid dramedy as two siblings who join a motley crew on an expedition to find one of the hairiest myths. Indie Rights will release Ape Canyon April 16 on a number of digital and cable platforms.

WATCH THE TRAILER:

Ape Canyon premiered at Reading Film Fest, and went on to screen at a number of festivals, including the Roswell Film Festival, Orlando International Film Festival, Up Next Film Film Festival and the Fort Worth Indie Film Showcase, where the filmmakers took home the award for Best Non-Texas Feature Film.

Cal Piker hasn’t seen his sister Samantha since their mother’s funeral. So she’s more than a little surprised when he interrupts her English lecture one morning with a bag of tacos and a proposal: a week out in the woods of Oregon, a week of looking for Bigfoot. And he already bought her ticket with her credit card.

So Samantha reluctantly joins Cal on an adventure he won’t fully explain, headed to Ape Canyon for no other reason than that “that’s where they are". But it’s a dangerous thing to be led around by Cal, the irresponsible, frustratingly likable kid brother, the one running always so hard and so far in the wrong direction.

For Cal’s part, he’s enthusiastic to the point of irrationalitydra to make his way to Ape Canyon and find Bigfoot for himself. He joins with a small group of adventurers and their guide from the Bigfoot Investigation Organization, and whatever obstacles they face—beginning, disconcertingly, with the guide absconding with money and valuables and leaving the group in the woods to die—he will not be turned away.

For whatever reason, for Cal, this is not a matter of legend. This is not just some adventure. If Samantha doesn’t stop him, Cal will either find Bigfoot or die trying.

"DETECTIVE CHINATOWN 3" Producer Shawn Xiang YUE Launches U.S.-Based Production Banner Bamboo Curtain

DETECTIVE CHINATOWN 3 PRODUCER SHAWN XIANG YUE LAUNCHES U.S.-BASED PRODUCTION BANNER BAMBOO CURTAIN

Bamboo Curtain Will Operate as a Fully Owned and Capitalized Subsidiary of YUE’s Beijing-Based Goshfilm Inc.

LOS ANGELES – APRIL 13, 2021: Prolific film producer Shawn Xiang YUE (Detective Chinatown 3) today announced the launch of his newly minted U.S. production banner, Bamboo Curtain, which will be fully capitalized by and operate under YUE’s Beijing-based Goshfilm Inc. Determined to bolster international talent both in front of and behind the camera, YUE is behind some of China’s top grossing box office hits, most recently Detective Chinatown 3 which has set global benchmarks and currently sits at $680m following its February 21st release.

Bamboo Curtain will focus on creating a conduit between the U.S. and Chinese entertainment industries through global and commercially viable content. The company will hire talent in the U.S. and aggregate content in the U.S. for China, allowing both sides to benefit from the booming Chinese market and acting as a transitional hub. The company will provide a space for talent to work on productions between China and the U.S. while helping creators navigate the legal and cultural differences.

In addition, Bamboo Curtain will acquire international IP and services to produce projects on a global scale, while supporting existing U.S. based productions, setting them up for success in the Chinese market.

Bamboo Curtain was co-founded by Shawn Xiang YUE, who will serve as CEO, and Jib Polhemus who will serve as President. Together, they bring years of experience in film development, production and financing, making the company perfectly positioned to bridge the gap between China and the U.S.

Shawn Xiang Yue said: “After working on Detective Chinatown II in New York, immersing myself in the U.S. film industry and bringing the Hollywood production management style to Tokyo for the filming of Detective Chinatown 3, I realized the need for a company to bridge the gap between China and Hollywood and help with the systematic differences between the two countries’ film industries.  As China’s film market continues to grow at an unprecedented speed, Bamboo Curtain will provide opportunities to Hollywood and Chinese talent, both above and below the line, strengthening industry bonds through direct cooperation between the two regions.”

Shawn Xiang YUE is a prominent international film producer and member of the PGA, who has successfully provided services to U.S. directors working in China.  Detective Chinatown 3, follows the success of Detective Chinatown 2, which Shawn also produced and created with a successful collaboration between China and Hollywood.  Shawn also produced Go Away Mr. Tumor, under his Goshfilm Inc. banner, which was selected as the Chinese entry for the 88th Academy Awards. He previously served as Head of International Business Affairs at Wanda Media where he co-produced a number of films including Police Story and Man of Taichi, and prior to that produced, translated and distributed over six hundred hours of television and film content for global companies such as Fremantle Media.

The American Craft Beer movement began with a group of restless homebrewers searching for something genuine and flavorful. Today it’s evolved into a redefinition of beer and an international cultural phenomenon.

That uniquely American spirit of rebellion and innovation survives in two groups of homebrewers from Long Beach, California who are looking to open their own breweries and bring their beers to the world.

These include a Christian father-son team who grew close over making beer and a retired rock star looking for the “quiet" existence of a brewery owner.

With the insight and commentary of legendary brewers Ken Grossman (Sierra Nevada), Fritz Maytag (Anchor Brewing), Charlie Papazian, Vinnie Cilurzo (Russian River), Sam Calagione (Dogfish Head), Jim Koch (Boston Brewing) and others, BREWMANCE reveals the soul of craft beer in the heart of America.

CHRISTO BROCK is an American Producer, Director, and Editor best known for the iconic swim documentary Touch the Wall,  the sports films Spirit of the Marathon and Hood to Coast, and the craft beer documentary BREWMANCE.

Great 3 Stooges Running Gag: "Dizzy" (video)

The word "dizzy" is often used in Three Stooges titles...

...but sometimes they utter it themselves.

Sometimes Moe uses it to describe his fellow Stooges.

And in one case it's the name of one of their girlfriends!

(threestooges.net)

THEY STOOGE TO CONGA (1943)
BACK FROM THE FRONT (1943)
LISTEN, JUDGE (1952)

I neither own nor claim any rights to this material.  Just having some fun with it.  Thanks for watching!
