Buster Keaton Breaks His Neck in "Sherlock, Jr." (1924) (video)

"Sherlock, Jr." contains several of Buster Keaton's best stunts.

But out of all the dangerous stunts he performed in his films...
...this one resulted in a broken neck...
...when the force of the water was greater than expected.

Buster simply ignored the pain and kept working until a callus grew over the fracture.

It was discovered by a doctor who X-rayed him over a decade later.
