Clueless director. Also it wasn't the director that said "get him" it was the head. The head that could vocalize w/o lungs to make the vocal chords move, and could even laugh.
Watch it again--you hear a low, man's voice mumble "Get him" a few seconds before Jan (the head) says it.
It looks like Chocolate Syrup...not blood. who has blood that is thick and almost black.
