In SHANE, Jack Palance played the evil gunfighter to Alan Ladd's reformed one.
Palance was memorable in the role of Wilson...but inexperienced as a horseman.
Getting down was no problem. Getting back on was another thing.
So they just used the shot of him getting down...in reverse.
Sometimes to go forward, you have to go backward.
