William Boyd's popular, kid-friendy "Hopalong Cassidy" westerns were hardly known for their horror content.
But in "Fool's Gold" (1947) there's a scene or two that might've given its younger viewers a shiver.
Especially the ones with an aversion to spiders.
The creepiest scene is saved for later.
It goes by quick, but it's a pretty indelible image.
(And one which was removed when the movies were later edited into TV episodes.)
