Prop Store News: Some Of Cinema's Most Incredible Costumes & Costume Designs To Be Auctioned

 

INCREDIBLE COSTUMES & COSTUME DESIGNS FROM SOME OF CINEMA’S MOST ICONIC CHARACTERS TO BE AUCTIONED

 

    Batman's (Val Kilmer) Sonar Batsuit Display from Batman Forever (1995), Buddy's (Will Ferrell) Hero Elf Costume from Elf (2003) and the Terminator's (Arnold Schwarzenegger) Hero Costume from Terminator Genisys (2015) are to be sold as part of Prop Store’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction between Tuesday 9th to Thursday 11th November 2021.
    Another of the auction’s highlights is Spider-man (Tobey Maguire) Production-made Costume from Spider-Man 3 (2007) (estimated between £30,000 - 50,000), designed by three-time Academy Award-winner, James Acheson. The auction features several amazing costume designs by Acheson, including characters from Doctor Who and the iconic Monty Python character, Mr Creosote which is estimate between £2,000 - 3,000.

    Over 1,000 lots will be sold as part of Prop Store’s three-day auction, featuring a collection of film memorabilia worth over £5.5 million ($7.6 million).

Instantly recognisable props from the Star Wars franchise including a Stormtrooper helmet from Return of the Jedi (1983) and Anakin Skywalker’s (Hayden Christensen) lightsaber from Revenge of the Sith (2005) are to be sold as part of Prop Store’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction between Tuesday 9th to Thursday 11th November 2021.

Other fantastic lots include Darth Maul’s (Ray Park) hero lightsaber from The Phantom Menace (1999) which is estimated to sell between £40,000 - £60,000 ($55,000 - $82,500) and C-3PO’s (Anthony Daniels) Hand from The Empire Strikes Back (1980), estimated between £15,000 – £20,000 ($20,610 - $27,480).

The NFTs being auctioned include a series of never-before-seen NFTs made from deleted scenes from Reboot Camp featuring David Lipper, Jessica Belkin, Nicole Aniston, Chaz Bono, Ja Rule, and David Koechner. Harry Potter’s wand and eyeglasses made for Daniel Radcliffe during production on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 & 2 (2010-2011), valued at $30,000 – 50,000 each, made available through donation from Warner Bros. archive and will include original Certificates of Authenticity from Warner Bros.

Prop Store – one of the world’s leading film and TV memorabilia companies has today announced it is to hold its annual live auction of film and TV memorabilia for the seventh consecutive year this December, with the items on offer expected to fetch in excess of £4.4 million ($5.6 million).

Over 900 rare and iconic lots will be sold during Prop Store’s unique Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction over two days on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd December 2020 from 2:00pm GMT.

Prop Store – one of the world’s leading film and TV memorabilia companies has today announced the results from their Los Angeles-based live auction of film and TV memorabilia, with items on offer fetching in excess of $6.2M (£4.75M).

Prop Store’s unique Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction was held over two days (yesterday Thursday 27th August and Wednesday 26th August 2020) at Prop Store’s Los Angeles office and broadcast around the world via a live stream.

Hundreds of bidders from around the world took part in Prop Store’s live auction, which achieved outstanding results over two days of exciting and intensive bidding. Hundreds of props, costumes and related entertainment memorabilia were sold during Prop Store’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction.

Some of the least expensive lots in the auction included a Bat-Signal Blueprint from Joel Schumacher’s BATMAN FOREVER (1995) which sold for $438 (£336), and a lot of Ari Gold's (Jeremy Piven's) Cigars and Business Cards from the TV series ENTOURAGE (2004-2011) sold for $594 (£456).

The bidders were out in force and we had more registrants than any prior auction of this type. Maverick proved that he is still dangerous, with the Top Gun Maverick fighter pilot helmet selling for an incredible $325,000 with the buyer’s premium – more than five times its pre-sale estimate price. Darth Vader, cinema’s greatest villain, was not far behind – an original 1977 Vader touring costume sold for over $285,000 with buyer’s premium.
