Directed by James Whale, the horror classic features groundbreaking special effects by John P. Fulton that inspired many of the techniques that are still used today.

"Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright." In 1941, “The Wolf Man” introduced the world to a new Universal movie monster, and the mythology of the werewolf was redefined forever.

Featuring Lon Chaney Jr. and groundbreaking make-up by Jack Pierce, this story of a cursed man who transforms into a deadly werewolf when the moon is full has not only become a masterpiece of the horror genre but of all time.

The Daily Wire Fast-Tracks New Gina Carano Western Thriller "TERROR ON THE PRAIRIE"

The Daily Wire Fast-Tracks New Western Thriller Starring Gina Carano

‘Terror on the Prairie’ will be released in the spring of 2022

NASHVILLE – October 12, 2021 – The Daily Wire announced today it has updated its 2021-22 production schedule as part of the company’s expanding slate of feature films. Originally, The Daily Wire planned to release White Knuckle in the first quarter of next year; however, the conservative media company has decided to reschedule the action film’s release and fast-track production on a new western thriller, Terror on the Prairie, starring and produced by former Disney Mandalorian actress Gina Carano.

“With the precariousness of the current Hollywood landscape and the remarkable overreach by its ruling class, we made the tough, but prudent choice to ride further out into the wild west to make movies on our own terms. The Daily Wire has given Gina and our team all the support any producers could ask for. Now, we must go make them proud by producing something that is truly great,” said producer Dallas Sonnier (Bone Tomahawk and Run Hide Fight).

Directed by Michael Polish (Northfork and The Astronaut Farmer), Terror on the Prairie features a pioneering family that fights back against a gang of vicious outlaws that is terrorizing them on their newly built farm in the great plains of Montana. Terror on the Prairie will be released in the spring of 2022 and will be available for streaming on exclusively to Daily Wire members.

(L-R) Gina Carano, Cowboy Cerrone and Nick Searcy - AP; Mega

“Returning to my home state of Montana to direct a western for Dallas and Amanda, a rare of breed of producers who I truly respect, had tremendous appeal,” said Polish.

Co-starring in the film alongside Carano are Nick Searcy (The Shape of Water and Justified); MMA star Cowboy Cerrone; stand-up comedian Tyler Fischer; Heath Freeman (Skateland); Samaire Armstrong (The O.C.); Travis Mills (Counting Bullets); Matthias Hues (I Come in Peace); Rhys Becker; Izzy Marshall, Jeremy Gauna; and Thomas White Eagle.

Sonnier is producing Terror on the Prairie along with Amanda Presmyk under their banner Bonfire Legend. This is The Daily Wire’s third collaboration with Bonfire. Terror on the Prairie was written by newcomer Josiah Nelson and cast by David Guglielmo (The Standoff at Sparrow Creek).

Nelson was originally a client of Sonnier’s former management firm Caliber Media a decade ago, and the two reconnected at just the right time. Nelson sent the Terror script to Sonnier and Carano just days before they enthusiastically greenlit the movie with The Daily Wire’s co-CEO Jeremy Boreing.

Boreing, along with his Daily Wire co-founders Ben Shapiro and Caleb Robinson will executive produce, alongside Nicolas Chartier and Jonathan Deckter of Los Angeles-based Voltage Pictures, who will also handle foreign sales of the film. Mills and Danielle Cox also executive produce.

Earlier this year, The Daily Wire announced its foray into entertainment with the acquisition of Kyle Rankin’s Run Hide Fight from Bonfire Legend. The action-packed hit drew 300,000 viewers during its live premiere in January.

Additional details about Terror on the Prairie will be shared in the coming weeks.

Carano is repped by manager Scott Karp and attorney Eric Galen. Polish is repped by APA, Management Production Entertainment, and attorney Alex Kohner. Searcy is repped by APA and LINK Entertainment. Cerrone is repped by Gersh. Freeman is repped by Rafterman Media. Hues is repped by Atomik Content. Becker is repped by Ivy Artists Management. Marshall is repped by 111 Media.

Co-founded by Ben Shapiro, The Daily Wire is one of America’s fastest growing conservative media companies for breaking news, investigative reporting, podcasts, in-depth analysis, and entertainment for a reason: because we believe in what we do. We believe in our country, in the value of truth and the freedom to speak it, and in the right to challenge tyranny wherever we see it.

Premiere Streaming Destination for Cinephiles Prepares to Launch New Look, New Exclusive Premieres and a New Viewer Experience

LOS ANGELES, CA / Oct. 5, 2021 / Cinedigm (NASDAQ:CIDM), the leading independent streaming entertainment company super-serving enthusiast fan bases, announced today the evolution of its pioneering streaming service Fandor, named the “Netflix for Indie Film” by The Wall Street Journal, has begun.

The new-look Fandor will come with a wider footprint and with hundreds of new acquisitions from an array of rights holders and film distributors. Subscribers will have access to over 1,000 hours of independent titles, including exclusive acquisitions from international film festivals and acclaimed titles from existing partners and key providers. The updated platform features a brand-new design and an intuitive user-experience, with a continuous refresh of independent titles each month—all designed to create the ultimate celebration of Cinephile culture.

“With over a decade of experience in streaming independent cinema, we are proud to bring new life to a service so dedicated to independent filmmakers and the incredible films they create,” said Phil Hopkins, president of Fandor. “We are confident audiences will enjoy the thousands of hours of exceptional films we have carefully curated, ranging from arthouse, to grindhouse, film noir, blaxploitation, comedy, drama, LGBTQ+, J-Horror and everything in between. With the relaunch of Fandor, the message to cinephiles is 'films' not 'content.’”

Originally launched at South by Southwest® in 2011, Fandor served as a pioneer in the elevation of independent film, both through its industry-leading independent streaming platform as well as through written and video editorial pieces.

Tapping into the $4.8 billion-dollar global market for independent film, the updated Fandor platform leverages Cinedigm’s innovative Matchpoint technology. This allows the service to easily and quickly deliver film and episodic titles through the industry-leading delivery system, providing the opportunity to significantly scale its offerings on the updated service.

Launching alongside the Fandor service will be Keyframe, Fandor’s digital editorial publication dedicated to the written and video exploration of independent cinema. Composed of articles, interviews, reviews, and video essays, the return of Keyframe serves as a highly anticipated community for filmmakers, writers, and film enthusiasts. Keyframe will represent one of many key initiatives by Fandor to dramatically increase its volume of original offerings. This includes editorial deep dives and tributes, such as a recent celebration of the work of director Werner Herzog, as well as monthly hand-picked featured playlists available on the Fandor service.

New to Fandor’s offerings on Keyframe is the Fandor Festival Podcast, exploring the best of independent film festivals, hosted by former Fandor executive Chris Kelly and seasoned morning radio personality Hooman Khalili, and featuring producer Bryn Nguyen. Guests include filmmakers, film festival founders, and industry leaders with engaging insights on festival films, available on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Simplecast.

“The last five years have seen accelerated access to content across the streaming spectrum. Yet even with all these choices, much of independent cinema has been left behind and Cinephiles often have difficulty finding films of interest on massive streaming platforms,” said Erick Opeka, President & Chief Strategy Officer of Cinedigm. “Fandor has been a pioneer in this space and offers a haven for Cinephiles looking for deep and meaningful titles that made them fall in love with films in the first place. Cinedigm’s commitment to independent film has never been stronger and, as the Company grows into a global brand, that dedication has caught the attention of filmmakers around the world.”

The streaming channels will be refreshed monthly with content from Cinedigm’s extensive library. The Company will also continue to aggressively acquire new original content to ensure its position as one of the leading digital and streaming destinations for Indie enthusiasts. Fandor will premiere several of Cinedigm’s highly anticipated releases this fall, including the ensemble comedy Distancing Socially, which features an all-star cast led by Alan Tudyk (Resident Alien) and Sarah Levy (Schitt’s Creek); Our Father, the acclaimed 2021 SXSW Grand Jury Award nominee about two estranged sisters on a quest to find their uncle; and the daring psychological thriller Into Schrodinger’s Box, about a woman struggling with the loneliness and isolation of quarantine.

The reimagined Fandor streaming service marks the latest in a series of strategic expansions by the Company in recent months. The Company reports continued success on the Fandor Amazon Prime Channel and has sponsored or participated in recent events including South by Southwest® 2021, the North Fork TV Festival, and Festival de Cannes 2021, with plans for additional sponsorships in the coming months. The Company has also announced plans to scale the service’s availability across multiple devices, including offering a Fandor FAST channel encompassing all interests for the avid Cinephile, to be available across global OTT streaming platforms.

The Fandor streaming service will be available on iOS and Android mobile devices, web, and Roku, with ad-free access to the entire Fandor library for $4.99/month or $49.99/year. Free, ad-supported access to select titles from the Fandor library will also be available at launch and new platforms will roll out over the rest of the year.

Joe Bob Reviews "NIGHT OF THE ANIMATED DEAD", New Animated Version Of The George Romero Classic

Animating the Reanimated Turns Up Dead
By Joe Bob Briggs

NEW YORK—Well, it sounded like a cute idea.

I heard that somebody put together an animated version of George Romero’s classic Night of the Living Dead.

This had to be an obsessed fan in Youngstown doing stop-motion in his attic, right?

Or maybe it was a low-level inker at Marvel who went home every night to her walk-up apartment in Queens and painstakingly drew digital versions of Barbara, Ben, Johnny, Harry Cooper and the rest of the cast, saving the zombies for last because they would be the most fun.

Maybe it was a “reimagining” of the story originally written by John Russo for Romero. Something like Tom Savini did with his 1990 remake—lovingly faithful to the characters, but with unique twists that catch us off guard.

Whatever it was, it had to be a passion project, right? Nobody puts that much time and effort into a homage unless they worship the film and worship Romero.

Backed by big-studio money, directed by an acclaimed animator who does million-dollar commercials, staffed with A-list voice talent including Katharine Isabelle of Ginger Snaps fame, with so many people working on it that the credits go on for seven minutes, Night of the Animated Dead has the soul of Saran Wrap on a three-day-old cookie. It’s basically a paint-by-numbers Xerox that added color to the identical shots in the original movie—including all kinds of massive blood spewing whenever a zombie gets wasted—but forgot to add color to the story itself.

Jason Axinn, the director, had a highly praised first feature called To Your Last Death two years ago at London’s Frightfest, but that film was noted more for its blood-soaked gore than its emotional impact. The same is true here. In Night of the Animated Dead, Romero’s characters become specimens instead of the flawed but sympathetic victims of the original. This is especially true in the case of the Harry Cooper character. Karl Hardman played it straight down the middle in 1968 so that you were able to see that his hard-headedness derived from his desire to protect his wife and daughter. As voiced by Josh Duhamel in the animated version, he’s just a selfish prick. (It’s not Duhamel’s fault. It’s drawn and written that way. Cooper’s face is feckless and sinister.) The Barbara character, too, becomes one-dimensional as she just babbles incoherently or stares straight ahead in a catatonic state, so you don’t get the Judith O’Dea tenderness. (Barbara is voiced by Katharine Isabelle, but again, it’s not her fault that the animation gives her nowhere to go.)

The reason for the lack of character depth seems to derive from the choice of animation style. The characters move in that herky-jerky mode characteristic of shorts normally seen at the Festival of East European Animation with titles like Reflection or Random Labyrinth or Hedgehog in Caligari’s Court. In other words, they don’t bother to sculpt the bodies so that we start to feel they are more than just symbols of people. We’ve already seen the real people in the real movie, so it seems like this would just be basic, but we have far too many moments of Ben being a cardboard bad-ass (voiced by Dule Hill), Harry being a cardboard coward, and Tom and Judy being a pair of cardboard lovebirds making bad decisions.

Far from being a fan-based love letter to the zombie classic, Night of the Animated Dead seems to be created by a bunch of suits in a conference room.

Is It Just Me, Or Is This Weirdly Suggestive? ("Undersea Kingdom" Serial, 1936) (video)

Joe Bob's "HALLOWEEN HOEDOWN" Airs Friday 10/08/21 On Shudder

Joe Bob's Halloween Hoedown

Friday, October 8
Only on Shudder
9 p.m. Eastern/6 p.m. Pacific

Continuing my annual tradition of ruining the Halloween season and making everyone say “Joe Bob, what you’re doing here has nothing to do with Halloween!”, I will be hosting a double feature about unconventional serial killers called HALLOWEEN HOEDOWN next Friday October 8th, but to cover myself I have two rarely-interviewed guests who pretty much own the holiday: David Gordon Green, director of HALLOWEEN 2018 and the upcoming HALLOWEEN KILLS, and Jason Blum, founder of Blumhouse, Hollywood’s modern house of movie horror. There’s also a special mystery guest who will rock us into the Halloween spirit, no matter how many factual blunders I make.

And one more thing: yes, I will wear the taco. I will not, however, wear the matching sombrero, because someone thinks it’s culturally inappropriate.

▪     Both films will be on Shudder TV live stream in the US and Canada on 10/8, then on demand 10/10
▪     10/8 livestream not available via Amazon Prime or AMC+; will go on demand on both 10/10

The box set, which bookends Rogers’ career, includes the newly remastered 1938 film Under Western Stars, and the newly restored 4K version of the 1975 modern western classic Mackintosh and T.J.
The perfect gift for classic collectors and western movie fans, the Blu-ray box set, which includes special bonus features for each title, will be available through (North America) and on Friday, November 26, 2021. (suggested retail price: $40.00/distributed by Verdugo Entertainment).

Under Western Stars | 4K Remaster
Official trailer:

Originally intended for Gene Autry, Under Western Stars was the first starring role for Roy Rogers (previously Leonard Slye) at Republic Pictures and launched his legendary career. When severe drought and the greedy exploits of a local water company threaten the prosperity of ranchers in the Dust Bowl, Roy Rogers comes to the rescue. Selected for the National Film Registry in 2019, Under Western Stars, which also stars Smiley Burnett, Carol Hughes and Maple City Four, is presented newly remastered from a print that was made for the film’s director Joe Kane and thought to be the only complete, uncut 16mm print still in existence.
Bonus Features:

Exploring the Alabama Hills, Lone Pine, CA (Lone Pine Location Documentary)
New Trailer for Under Western Stars
Mackintosh and T.J. original 1976 Theatrical Trailer

The film's song "Dust,” written by Johnny Marvin, was nominated for an Academy Award in 1938 and was performed by Rogers at the live ceremony. In 2009, Under Western Stars was selected for the National Film Registry Award by the Library of Congress for being "culturally, historically or aesthetically" significant.
“Under Western Stars isn’t just a classic western, it is the film that launched one of the most famous names, and voices, in western film history,” said Steve Latshaw, Post Producer, Verdugo Entertainment. “Doing this film justice meant creating a newly remastered version in today’s formats while staying as close to the original studio’s in-house style as possible both from a visual and audio perspective. We believe we have achieved that.”

The newly remastered Under Western Stars will premiere at the Lone Pine Film Festival on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 2:30 pm PST. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Verdugo Post Producer, Steve Latshaw, and will feature Roger’s daughter Cheryl Rogers-Barnett along with film notable restoration and preservation experts. The panel will provide a real behind the curtain view of preserving Under Western Stars, other films like it and the growing challenges faced as films age and formats evolve.

Mackintosh and T.J. | 4K Restoration

Official trailer:

In his triumphant final film role, Rogers stars as Mackintosh, a migrant cowboy traveling across West Texas plains in his run-down pickup truck. While looking for work breaking horses, Mackintosh befriends T.J. (future Pro Rodeo Hall of Famer Clay O’Brien), a runaway teen. The two form an unlikely bond and find jobs together at a cattle ranch where Mackintosh impresses the owner with his bronco-taming skills. Trouble, however, is on the horizon, but Mackintosh proves himself as a man who is not afraid to take a stand.
Bonus Features:

Lone Pine Cast Reunion with Clay O’Brien, Andrew Robinson and Larry Mahan
    Interview with Billy Green Bush
Audio Commentary with Clay O’Brien, Andrew Robinson, and moderator C. Courtney Joyner
    Original On-set Footage

Screenwriter Paul Savage, most known for his TV work in Wagon Train, Big Valley, and Gunsmoke, penned the film specifically with Rogers in mind and is one of the few films in which the actor did not play himself.
The film is essentially a moving photo album of ranch life in Texas in the mid-1970s,” said Sean Lawrence, Restoration Colorist. “Our approach was to try and be as true to the original intention and not impose modern aesthetics. So, we restored to 4K from the original 35MM camera negative and went through a color correction process to match the original film.”

Mackintosh and TJ’s original score is by Waylon Jennings and the soundtrack features songs by Jennings and country music icon Willie Nelson.
Verdugo Entertainment launched the single 4k restoration of the title on Blue-ray, DVD and streaming platforms Amazon Prime, Vudu, You Tube and Google Play in May 2021.

LAND OF THE PHARAOHS -- Movie Review by Porfle

Currently watching: LAND OF THE PHARAOHS (1955), a staggeringly epic film by Howard Hawks.

While not Biblically inspired, this breathtaking cinematic fever dream of ancient Egypt rivals the greatest works of Cecil B. DeMille in sheer spectacle, with huge sets and the proverbial cast of thousands.

It's the sort of thing that's mostly left to CGI effects whizzes these days, and the fact that it's all real--even the magic of matte paintings and other photographic effects of the time is sparse--makes the grandeur on display throughout the film even more impressive.

The story is simple yet compelling. Jack Hawkins plays the Pharaoh as one who believes himself a living god, and the thought of his tomb being raided of his precious store of treasures after his death prompts him to hire the greatest architect available to design for him a theft-proof tomb, nestled inside the largest pyramid ever built, which will take many years and hordes of slaves to complete.

The architect is himself a slave, but he persuades Pharaoh to release his people if the theft-proof tomb is a success. Meanwhile, Joan Collins (at her most gorgeous) plays a would-be queen whose avarice rivals Pharaoh's, and she conspires to have him entombed as soon as possible so that she may claim both the throne and the treasure.

How director Howard Hawks manages to make all this so compelling is a wonder to behold. The film is not only visually intoxicating but exceedingly literate (with William Faulkner among the screenwriters) and well acted.

Hawks stages it all to perfection, and seems to thrive on this sort of spectacle even without his trademark rapid-fire overlapping dialogue and touches of lighthearted humor.

While stately and exquisitely dry, the script also leaves Hawks plenty of room for the sort of gaudy visual and thematic indulgence which is the very stuff of the most satisfyingly over-the-top cult classics. This helps him keep things effortlessly involving for the film's entire running time, all the way up to the not-so-surprising yet still rewarding twist ending.

I'd heard about this film's cult popularity over the years--people who saw it as kids seem to have retained their fondness for it--but never suspected that I myself would find it so richly entertaining and rewatchable.

Still, it does lack a key element of DeMille's spectacles in that there's no core of religious faith, no ultimate catharsis of the spirit to send us off at the end with that soulful glow. LAND OF THE PHARAOHS does have a satisfying ending, but it's a rather hollow one.

"LOURDES" Stunningly Beautiful Doc Follows Pilgrims Seeking Healing At World Famous Site On DVD 9/28

Icarus Films

A film by Thierry Demaizière and Alban Teurlai
From Distrib Films • An Icarus Films Release

On to DVD  September 28th

Lourdes: A stunningly beautiful mountainous village in the Southwest foothills of the Pyrenees went from a sleepy scenic town to a sacred wonder after 1858, when a 14-year-old peasant girl claimed to have seen the Virgin Mary in a remote grotto. Today, the town is second only to Paris in the number of annual visitors (6 million), part venerated shrine, part Disneyland (shops selling bottled holy water and Virgin Mary-related tchotchkes).

Vast processions of people seeking a miracle fuel a small army of caregivers who accompany them. These pilgrims are a surprising cross-section of humanity: accident victims, the terminally ill, an overweight and bullied teenager, a contingent of aging Paris prostitutes, et alia. LOURDES is an insightful meditation on the human capacity for empathy and hope and the mystery of religious faith in the face of profound tribulation.

After Boffo UK Reception, Local Buffalo Filmmaker's "LAGUNA AVE." Crosses the Pond To US Premiere and Party at BIFF

Family Affair Brings Hometown Filmmaker and Hometown Venue Operator to Historic Theatre and Legendary Tralf Music Hall. “Lo-Fi Sci-Fi Horror Comedy” Film plays in-person at North Park Theater:

“Aesthetically [Laguna Ave] is impressive…recalling Lynch’s work on Eraserhead…it’s a refreshing piece of cinema that shows the potential that Buchanan and Papadeas has.” -Pip Ellwood-Hughes, Entertainment Focus

“Think of John Waters meets technology in this surreal tale of paranoia and Artificial Intelligence in Los Angeles. It’s strange, it’s funny, it’s filled with WTF moments. One for lovers of the bizarre who want their horror with a side of the darkest humour.”
-Sabina Stent, Sabina Stent

“Embrace the madness within! Laguna Ave is a demented vision of budgeted cyberpunk, paranoid frenzy and comedic surrealism. An easy highlight of this FrightFest 2021!” -Adam Symchuk, Grimoire of Horror

Buffalo, NY, September 24, 2021—LAGUNA AVE., director David Buchanan, Buffalo native producer Ali Barone and producer/writer/actor Paul Papadeas’ gender/genre-bending slacker lo-fi-sci-fi horror comedy follows one man’s mystical misadventures in and surrounding a rambling Echo Park apartment. After its’ successful screening at London’s prestigious FrightFest, LAGUNA AVE will make its U.S. premiere at the 15th annual Buffalo International Film Festival (BIFF) in Buffalo, New York. The film will screen in-person at Buffalo’s historic North Park Theater on Thursday 7 Oct 09:30PM EST. A post screening party for the film takes place the next day, 8 October at 9:30PM at Tralf Music Hall, 622 Main St, Buffalo, NY 14202; phone 716-835-3500.

LAGUNA AVE. defies easy description. The film stars Russell Steinberg (ADVENTURELAND; DAY OUT OF DAYS; BELOW THE BELT (as “Johnny Fayva”)) as Russell, a middle-aged, burned-out TV editor with a prosthetic hand who futilely searches for work in Hollywood's brutal, exploitative underbelly. His former boss (Paul Papadeas) owes him money, his partner Rita (Stephanie Brait) is indifferent, always out of town and inaccessible, and his new downstairs neighbor Gary (Jamie Hall/James Markham Hall Jr. (NEIGHBORS)) keeps him awake at night with mysterious, disturbing noises. But everything changes one evening when Gary pays Russell a visit and introduces him to his sinister world of renegade accelerationism and a collection of outrageous, unstable but captivating fellow travelers and co-conspirators.

Russell Steinberg and James Markham Hall Jr. in LAGUNA AVE

"A film found on a trash heap after the apocalypse. That was Paul’s pitch when he sent me the script for Laguna Ave.,” Buchanan recalls. “I loved its many contradictions: cheap but ambitious, sleazy yet intellectual, funny and dark. It perfectly captures the trashy times we’re living in." The two former bandmates and Barone bootstrapped the production, drafted friends to help out, and let everyone add their own individual brand of insanity to the mix. “The production took on a life of its own, like some a self-propelled, malfunctioning cyborg bent on self-destruction."

Director DAVID BUCHANAN started making films in his local woods aged 14, and to this day is still driven by that same DIY thrill: of having a fun idea, getting a team together, and making it all happen with a budget of £20. Writer/Producer PAUL PAPADEAS has produced four features including AN INNOCENT KISS with Burt Reynolds in 2019, which premiered at the Vancouver’s Just for Laughs Film Festival and is repped by Shoreline Entertainment. Producer/production Designer ALISON BARONE, the founder and CEO of Polytime Atelier, has been a behind the scenes production director for fashion brands such as Rodarte, Libertine, Jeremy Scott and Marchesa. Ali's experience has allowed her to translate those skills into film production. LAGUNA AVE. is her first feature film.

Stephanie Brait in LAGUNA AVE

For the last 15 years, The Buffalo International Film Festival has been championing “regional, national, and international films that push the limits of independent cinema.” Established in 2006, BIFF helps support local artists and filmmakers through its workshops, seminars, fiscal sponsorships and internships. BIFF proudly celebrates the diversity of their community of Buffalo, NY, as well as amplifying the voices of filmmakers in underrepresented communities. This year, BIFF will host over 120 films from 24 countries bringing together a diverse cast of innovative storytellers and films. LAGUNA AVE. will make its U.S. premiere in the BIFF Narrative Features section of the festival.

The BIFF Screening represents a homecoming of sorts for its producer Ali Barone, who was raised in Buffalo and whose father, Tom Barone, has operated the Tralf for the past 15 years. Barone recently saved the theatre from development. The Tralf, as music and sci-fi cognoscenti know, is short for Trafalmadore, the fictional planet that has figured prominently in the writings of Kurt Vonnegut. Lo-fi sci fi and highbrow sci-fi: too close for coincidence?

"Laguna Ave. is very much a story for the present moment, dealing with artificial intelligence, post-truth paranoia, the way that technology separates us from our own bodies,” concludes Buchanan. “But it also grapples with more timeless themes such as drink, drugs, poo and dildos, so basically there’s something in there for everyone. It’s a unique film that could only have been made by this group of people, at this point in history. After the positive reception the film received in the UK, we’re looking forward to seeing how American audiences receive the film. We’re ecstatic to be at BIFF.”

Joe Bob Saves The Planet -- Elvis' Environmental Footprint?

Due to the efforts of pioneering environmentalist Elvis Presley, 100 percent of the objects, flooring, ceiling and walls of the Jungle Room at Graceland are recyclable

NEW YORK—People ask me all the time, “How do you do it, Joe Bob? How did you achieve that negative-27,000 environmental footprint?”

Easy. I recycle everything. I once recycled a One-Oh-Eight Freightliner dump truck with a flat-leaf spring suspension and a stand-up right-hand drive that I inherited from Chubb Fricke when he went to jail for getting drunk in San Diego and stealing a penguin from SeaWorld.

But for day-to-day recycling, I’m gonna give you the foolproof Joe Bob Briggs Guide to Loving the Earth. If you follow these 21 easy steps, you won’t just be loving the earth, you’ll be having kinky sex with the earth. Other planets will be asking you for your phone number.

First off, you’re gonna need two dozen 55-gallon whiskey barrels, the kind used for Wild Turkey, then reused for Macallan single malt, then frequently used to dispose of dead bodies.

We’re gonna arrange our whiskey barrels into four groups—plastic, paper, metal and glass—and then we’re gonna put a single slime bucket next to each group. The slime bucket is for stuff you can’t categorize, like egg cartons.

What the fuck do they make egg cartons out of? Somebody please tell me. It’s not paper, it’s not cardboard, it’s not plastic, it’s some kind of spongy white Frankenbucket substance that’s cranked out through a 3D printer fed with squirrel manure.

And yet, I will recycle it. Do not challenge me. I have recycled machine-gun-toting members of the Medellin cartel.

Okay, let’s start with plastic. You’re gonna take seven barrels and label them as follows:

Styrofoam Coffee Cups: We use 24 trillion of these a year, and everyone believes they can’t be recycled. We’re gonna recycle these mothers anyway. We’re gonna smush em down into that barrel, tens of thousands of Styrofoam coffee cups in a single barrel, until that foam polystyrene becomes rigid polystyrene. They’re going right in with the plastic razors, CD cases, license plate frames, and Uber Eats utensils. America uses 2.5 million plastic bottles per hour, and I’m determined to increase that pace by proving that every Poland Spring container can become yet another Poland Spring container if we just shovel this stuff back into the Plastic Mash-up Factory.

Okay, let’s move on.

High-Density Polystyrene: This is your Lysol bottle, your Oreo tray, and your Tide dispenser. And we’re gonna make lawn chairs out of em.

Polyvinyl Chloride: This is all that stuff you thought was leather when you bought it but turned out to be made out of kitchen linoleum. We’re gonna use it to make traffic cones for use in midwestern cities that maxed out their budget subsidizing the B-B gun factory.

Polypropylene: Tic Tac boxes, Tupperware, prescription drug containers, beer coolers, and those little trash cans that you kick across the room in motels. This is stuff that is made to last. But it won’t. We’ll mash that molded deck chair into oatmeal residue.

Polyethylene: This is virtually everything plastic that you use in your daily life, from Head and Shoulders bottles to all those quilts they sell at Family Dollar—those things are 110 percent petrochemical-based, which is why we have heat-stroke victims in January. Here’s the part you’re gonna love, though. We’re gonna compact all that stuff and feed it to the Greater Wax Moth, an ugly little monster that normally feeds on beehives. The Chinese have determined that these creatures can live on polyethylene, and that means that it’s only a matter of time before Michael Bay makes the movie about China using its overwhelming polyethylene stockpile to breed monster Wax Moths that attack en masse and eat their way through redneck packing plants all over the South.

Okay, what else we got here?

“Elysia: The World in Children’s Dreams,” Making the Dream Alive on Screen — TV Show or Film

“Elysia: The World in Children’s Dreams,” Making the Dream Alive on Screen — TV Show or Film

London, UK, September 23, 2021 – It’s time to wake up in the fabulous world of Elysia. With now fully completed film treatment and screenplay, Malcolm Chester’s “Elysia: The World in Children’s Dreams” is now eyeing to become the next great series or film adaptation.

After his publishing success on both the first book and sequel, Chester endorses his beloved story to be produced and turned into a movie. It’s a magnificent tale filled with a whimsical charm that has the potential to become a box office success.

A coming-of-age story in a fantasy setting about a young girl and boy whose nightly adventures in a dreamland teach them compassion, bravery, and love. Waking up in a strange and surreal place, Courtney finds herself in a dreamland. Welcome to the world of Elysia, a place of wonder and magic, light and beauty, purity and evil—an endless imagination of adventures and friendship.

The book begins with young Courtney, unsettled by the lights and sound of a police car, covering her ears as she lies down in bed. As she closed her eyes and fell asleep, she finds herself waking in a front of an iron gate with a sign reading ELYSIA.

Where… Where am I? Is this a dream or…

Inside the gate, greets a fantasy Funland with iridescent colors, candy mounds, fantastic creatures, and different amusement rides that every kid would enjoy. Each time Courtney falls asleep, she is transported into the dreamland. There, she meets new odd friends and encounters frustrating series of events.

In the real world, Courtney has troubles at home and only longs to come back to Elysia. She also fears puberty and hates to confront the thought of becoming a fully grown woman. As the story unfolds, the fine line between reality and fantasy becomes blurred. Although rich in fun and magic, Elysia is in grave danger as the Crystal of Light has been stolen. Apparently, the walls of Elysia are becoming weaker as days passed, and a journey to retrieve the crystal must be done in haste. The journey to the Maelstrom begins.

It’s a perilous quest that no one even dared to tread and most adventurers have failed to come back ever. Along their voyage, the Light Swords have to defeat a huge black snake, a pack of wolves, the Dark King’s soldiers, and a speaking dragon. Together with her newly formed friends, Courtney must complete the quest to return the magic crystal from the evil king and restore balance to the land.

“Chester keeps the vocabulary and subject tightly geared toward those things that interest and confuse children as they begin to grow up. At the same time, he provides children with a message of empowerment no matter what difficulties they may be facing in the sometimes all-too-real world of adults.”

--US Review of Books

Readers around the world love the wonderland Elysia, a convincing world of imagination that speaks of terror and tenderness, innocence and chaos in life. Book reviewers praise the author for depicting a fantasy novel that is not only fit for kids but also offers a timeless lesson for adults alike. It’s a beloved book that stirs your imagination with poignant words, keeping you in slumber into the dreamland, Elysia.

Away in the real world, reading Chester’s Elysia brings you into a dreamy land of childlike wonder. As interesting and imaginative in the text, creating a film about the world of Elysia will dazzle young ones and educate them with lifelong lessons.

Lovely and enjoyable, author Malcolm Chester charms his reader into weaving an extraordinary world while introducing fantastic and charming characters. And also, these tales are about many things, like growing in different phases is also talk about: learning to feel, getting in love, and becoming an adult. Indeed, it’s a brilliant story that has a making of a great film, plunging the viewer into the extraordinary hidden beyond the ordinary.

He’s a killer of killers with a bit of a rage problem. Throughout the series, he must learn to navigate the struggle between his inherently sweet nature and the evil acts he must commit. It’s through his complicated friendship with the Ghost of Bryce (a former assassin and now, Monkey’s unwanted conscience), that will determine whether Monkey will be consumed by his rage or channel it for good. This is the story of Hit Monkey.
