"LOST TRANSMISSIONS" will be available in theaters and on demand March 13th.
LOS ANGELES (February 19, 2019) —Gravitas Ventures, a Red Arrow Studios company, has acquired North American rights to Lost Transmissions, Katharine O’Brien’s directorial debut starring Simon Pegg (Star Trek, Mission Impossible), Juno Temple (Atonement, Maleficent), and Alexandra Daddario (Baywatch, True Detective). Lost Transmissions will be available in theaters and on demand March 13th.
Based on a true story, Lost Transmissions follows Theo Ross (Simon Pegg), a respected, Los Angeles music producer. His friend, Hannah (Juno Temple), a shy, aspiring songwriter, discovers that he has lapsed on his medication for schizophrenia. In an effort to get Theo the help he needs, Hannah and their group of friends, chase him as he outruns his colorful delusions through the glamour and grit of Los Angeles’ music scene.
The film was produced by Filip Jan Rymsza for Royal Road Entertainment alongside Tory Lenosky for Pulse Films, alongside Al Di for Underlying Tension, and Olga Kagan. Executive Producers were Pulse Films’ Thomas Benski and Brian Levy, Bo An, Alan Li, Katharine O’Brien and Robert Schwartzman. The film is co-produced by Craig Newman, Alyssa Swanzey, and Jo Henriquez.
Lost Transmissions premiered at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival and went on to receive wide acclaim on the festival circuit, including Best Actor honors for Simon Pegg at the DTLA Film Festival.
Joey Magidson of Hollywood News said, “Simon Pegg and Juno Temple have never been better, exercising new acting muscles and causing you to re-evaluate what each is capable of.”
"It's been deeply gratifying to watch the film resonate with film festival audiences around the world. I've found it touches on a common shared experience and I'm thrilled for Gravitas to bring Lost Transmissions to a wide audience," said Katharine O’Brien.
“Katharine’s nuanced direction draws out a revelatory performance from Simon Pegg. We look forward to North American audiences discovering the film,” said Tony Piantedosi, Vice President of Acquisitions at Gravitas Ventures.
