Beverly Hills, CA – On October 13, 2009, Anchor Bay Entertainment is proud to release the groundbreaking teen drama about the dark side of Tinseltown, Where The Day Takes You on DVD for only $14.98 SRP (pre-book September 10, 2009).

Originally released in theaters 17 years ago in 1992, Where The Day Takes You boasts a stellar ensemble cast in some of the most startling performances of their young careers including mega box-office superstar Will Smith (Seven Pounds) in his film debut. Shot as if a documentary in the now popular reality style, Where The Day Takes You captures the grim, unpleasant underbelly of Hollywood’s runaway teens living on the street.

Where The Day Takes You also stars television and film favorites Sean Astin (Rudy, Lord of the Rings, “24”), Adam Baldwin (“Chuck”), Lara Flynn Boyle (“The Practice,” Twin Peaks”), Balthazar Getty (“Brothers & Sisters”), Robert Knepper (“Prison Break”), Ricki Lake (Hairspray, “Ricki Lake”), James Le Gros (Singles, Point Break), Nancy McKeon (“The Division,” “The Facts of Life,”), Alyssa Milano (“Charmed”), Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend’s Wedding, Happy Together), and Christian Slater (Heathers). The film was directed and co-written by the late Marc Rocco (Murder in the First).

Hailed by Roger Ebert as, “effective, well-acted and convincing,” and “genuinely shocking and disturbing” by movieline.com, Where The Day Takes You also won the 1992 Golden Space Needle Award for Most Popular Movie at the Seattle International Film Festival. Rocker Melissa Etheridge also provides some of her best known songs on the soundtrack, including the haunting and heartfelt ballad, “Precious Pain.” Other songs include “Occasionally,” “Testify” and “You Can Sleep While I Drive.”

Synopsis: They have nothing…except each other. In the dark side of Tinseltown, a group of teenage runaways live each day lost in a spiral of drugs, sex, crime and violence. Led by King (Mulroney), the tribe includes tweaker Greg (Astin), legless Manny (Smith), unstable Little J (Getty), prostitute Kimmy (Milano) and just-off-the-bus Heather (Boyle).
