BONG JOON HO’S ACADEMY AWARDⓇ WINNER PARASITE TO RELEASE STORYBOARDS THROUGH GRAND CENTRAL PUBLISHING ON MAY 19
BONG JOON HO’S CANNES PALME D’OR WINNER PARASITE WON A HISTORIC FOUR ACADEMY AWARDSⓇ, A GOLDEN GLOBE AND A SAG AWARD FOR BEST ENSEMBLE
New York, NY - February 27, 2020 - Grand Central Publishing will be releasing the complete storyboards to writer-director Bong Joon Ho’s four-time Academy AwardⓇ winning Parasite, as a book, currently set to hit stores in May 19, 2020. Parasite just made history as the first foreign language film to win the Academy AwardⓇ for Best Picture and the first Korean film to win Best Director, Best International Film, and Best Original Screenplay. Parasite was also nominated for Best Production Design and Best Editing, and previously won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film and the Palme d’Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.
Grand Central has acquired North American rights to the book, which has already been published in South Korea, from David Kuhn and Nate Muscato at Aevitas Creative Management. The 304 pages, drawn by Director Bong himself, depict every scene in the movie and read like a graphic novel. The dialogue, stage and camera directions will be translated into English from Korean. The book will include a foreword written by Director Bong about the making of the film and his creative process.
“Director Bong’s illustrations share the illuminating power of his writing and directing, making the Parasite graphic novel a gorgeous, riveting read and fascinating behind-the-scenes glimpse at the making of one of the best films of the year,” says Senior Editor Wes Miller, who acquired the graphic novel for Grand Central Publishing. “The result is an all-new way to experience the vertiginous delights and surprises of Bong Joon Ho’s deeply affecting, genre-defying story.”
Bong Joon Ho brings his singular style to this pitch-black modern fairytale, the winner of four Academy AwardsⓇ.
By turns darkly hilarious and heart-wrenching, Parasite showcases a modern master at the top of his game.
Parasite debuted at the Cannes film festival where it became the first Korean film to win the coveted Palme d’Or and has since gone on to play at festivals across the country, including Telluride, Toronto and New York Film Festival. Parasite is being hailed by critics as the best film of 2019, earning 99% on Rotten Tomatoes. NEON released the film in theaters in October, where it has since gone on to gross over $49 million, becoming the fourth highest grossing foreign language film ever released in the US.
Parasite was written and directed by Bong Joon Ho and features a SAG Ensemble Award-winning cast including his long time collaborator Song Kang Ho, Choi Woo Shik, Park So Dam, Cho Yeo Jeong, Lee Jung Eun, Lee Sun Kyun, and Chang Hyae Jin.

Recent releases include: the critically acclaimed Cannes hit Portrait of a Lady on Fire, which was nominated for Best Foreign Film at the Golden Globes® and Independent Spirit Awards; Tamara Kotevska and Ljubo Stefanov’s award-winning and record-breaking Honeyland, which is the first non-fiction feature to land Academy Award® nominations for Best Documentary and Best International Feature Film in the same year; Alejandro Landes’ cinematic thriller Monos (the Colombian selection for the Academy Awards®); Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz‘s horror film The Lodge starring Riley Keough; Julius Onah’s Luce starring Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer; Tom Harper’s Wild Rose starring Jessie Buckley; John Chester’s The Biggest Little Farm; Chinonye Chukwu’s Clemency starring Academy Award® Nominee Alfre Woodard; and the electrifying documentary about Aretha Franklin, Amazing Grace.

Kirill Sokolov's "WHY DON'T YOU JUST DIE!" Heads to US Theaters Arrow Video Invites Audiences to Meet (and Kill) the Parents Brutal Action Comedy Opens April 10th in Select Markets
"A splatterpunk action comedy... gleefully dark" --Hollywood Reporter
"A smartly constructed and blisteringly paced bit of chaos" --Screen Anarchy
London, UK - Arrow Video is proud to announce the US theatrical release of Why Don't You Just Die!, a blood-soaked black comedy in the vein of Quentin Tarantino and Edgar Wright.
Making his feature debut, writer/director Kirill Sokolov presents a rousing tale of family, modern relationships and the dark places they can take you to when things turn sour. Why Don't You Just Die! will open in select theaters nationwide on April 10th, 2020.
WATCH THE TRAILER:
Why Don't You Just Die! has received critical acclaim from festivals around the globe, taking home the New Flesh Award for Best First Feature and Silver Audience Award at Fantasia, Best European Feature Film at MOTELx, Best Director at Fantaspoa, Best Feature, Best Director and Best VFX Awards at Grimmfest. Following a screening at Fantastic Fest, Film School Rejects raved that "Russian cinema has a new filmmaker to champion".
Theatrical markets include Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Knoxville, Ithaca, Houston, Lubbock, El Paso and Phoenix.
Ahead of the release, Sokolov shared, "Despite our exaggerated use of genre tropes and all the flashy effects, Why Don't You Just Die! remains, for me, an incredibly personal and sincere story. The film's inherent violence is the result of reflection on the realities of life in Russia, modern relationships, and societal attitudes. The gallows humor which pervades the film is the only true reaction whatsoever to all of this. The film is intended as an emotional rollercoaster, making the audience laugh, cry, and laugh again - but then immediately feel a sense of unease for having laughed."
Matvey (Aleksandr Kuznetsov) has just one objective: to gain entry to his girlfriend's parents' apartment and kill her father Andrey (Vitaliy Khaev) with a hammer to restore her honour. But all is not as it initially seems, and Matvey's attempts to bludgeon the family patriarch to death don't quite go to plan as Andrey proves a more formidable - not to mention ruthless - opponent than he anticipated... and Matvey, for his part, proves stubbornly unwilling to die.

TERROR FILMS Sets Release Date for 1980’s Throwback Slasher
"THE TORMENT OF LAURIE ANN CULLOM"
Los Angeles, CA (February 26th, 2020) – TERROR FILMS has set a release date for the long gestating 80’s horror film The Torment of Laurie Ann Cullom.
Inspired by actual events, director Mark Dossett’s critically acclaimed indie horror film is set to debut on digital platforms this March 2nd, 2020. The film, which first began its festival run in 2014, has been praised by horror critics.
Morbidly Beautiful stated, “The Torment of Laurie Ann Cullom is an extremely satisfying watch. It’s a well-made horror film with a well-placed nod to Halloween, a villain who resembles Kane Hodder and a great soundtrack and musical score that effectively represent the era.
There are creepy moments, scenes that are hard to watch and a well-paced build-up of events all surrounding a sympathetic lead character. That’s what makes this film such a great watch for horror fans.”
This sentiment was shared by fellow genre critics including by Horror Fuel who called the film - “one of the best slasher movies of the year” - and Horror Society who proclaimed the film was “a triumph for old school horror".
When asked why he waited so long to distribute his feature film debut, director Mark Dossett had this to say: “I had four previous distribution offers before signing with Terror Films. I had everything from one distributor telling me they didn't like the name of the film and they would figure it out once I signed. Another one quoted me on the phone their recoupable expense amount and then when the contract was sent, it was double that amount. So, at the end of the day, it all came down to trust. I didn't trust any of them. After talking with Joe, I realized he and his staff were also indie filmmakers and that we would work together on everything from the poster to the trailer. That gave me the trust that I didn't have with the others to go ahead and sign with Terror Films.”
The release will span over several months as it becomes available across digital platforms. Digital platforms hosting the film include: Prime Video, Tubi TV, Google Play and many others. In advance of the release, TERROR FILMS is debuting the newly revised trailer and poster here.
Did you know that this Saturday - February 29 - is Leap Day?
It’s a date that only comes around every 4 years to help synchronize the calendar year with the length of time it takes the Earth to complete its orbit around the sun - which is 365.25 days! It’s an extra 24 hours to do whatever you want, without feeling guilty that you don’t have the time.
In the word’s of Chandler Bing – “Can I BE anymore excited?!”
Some fun facts about Leap Year:
Leap Year was first introduced by Julius Caesar in 45 BC. The odds of being born on Leap Day are about 1 in 1500. Leap year babies get their driver's licenses when they are officially four years old (or 16 calendar years)! How do you know if it’s going to be a Leap Year? Most years that can be divided evenly by 4 are Leap Years, with the exception on Century Years. Century Years are not Leap Years unless they can be evenly divided by 400.

Although writer-director James Glickenhaus may be known for lively cult action flicks like THE EXTERMINATOR, he cut his filmmaking teeth on a talky but intriguing low-budget thriller called THE ASTROLOGER, aka "Suicide Cult" (1975), which he now refers to as his "student film."
Based on a novel by his father-in-law John Cameron, it's the story of a brilliant government agent named Alexei (Bob Byrd in his only film) who applies modern scientific techniques to the ancient art of astrology and, with the help of advanced (for the time) computers, can predict the course of an influential person's life in order to alter their future and create new outcomes.
This comes in handy when Alexei and his "zodiacal" associates somehow--don't ask me how, but somehow--figure out that we're due for another virgin birth like the one 2,000 years ago, only this time the result may be a messiah of evil. (Sort of a "Rosemary's Baby" type of deal.)
Glickenhaus cuts back and forth between Alexei and a sinister cult leader named Kajerste (producer Mark Buntzman) who lords it over a gypsy blood cult that may be directly involved in the rise of such a horrible creature.
To this end, Kajerste has taken an interest in Alexei's own wife Kate (Monica Tidwell), a virgin who shares the exact same astrological template as the Virgin Mary herself.
As the director now freely admits, all of this is presented via long dialogue passages, during which Byrd's ability to reel off whole paragraphs of intricate exposition in a semi-naturalistic manner is impressive.
Even former Playboy playmate Tidwell, whose acting abilities are limited to say the least, manages some pretty unwieldy dialogue (in her distinctive Louisiana accent) when Kate finally divulges the secret of her past to an astonished Alexei.
Breaking up the film's many talk-fest scenes are snippets of Kajerste's followers engaged in their infernal ceremonies, intercut rather tastelessly with newsreel footage of what appear to be actual mutilated bodies. (This footage is jarring, to say the least.)
Somewhat resembling one of Bruno Mattei's jungle flicks, these scenes allow Glickenhaus to stretch his creative skills visually while amping up the suspense level when, at about the halfway mark, one of Alexei's female agents is caught trying to sneak into Kajerste's camp on what she thought was a secret mission.
What happens next shocks the film out of its lethargy and sets us up for a much more involving second half seasoned with the requisite amounts of nudity and violence. Yet just as the story still seems to be building, the film ends abruptly on a unresolved note that may leave some viewers hanging.
Despite its shortcomings, THE ASTROLOGER is a fascinating look at a novice director's determined effort to create a sophisticated sci-fi/horror tale laced with both intriguing ideas and visceral shocks. For many fans of genre filmmaking on a shoestring budget, the attempt itself should provide engaging entertainment.

One thing we know for sure from the "Star Wars" films...
...is that Darth Vader's favorite word is "complete." He REALLY likes for things to be complete.
"The Death Star will completed on schedule, my master." "You have only begun to discover your power. Join me and I will complete your training." "The circle is now complete. When I left you, I was but the learner. Now I am the master." "I see you have constructed a new lightsaber. Your skills are complete." "Your feelings have now betrayed her, too. Obi-Wan was wise to hide her from me. Now his failure is complete."
Of course, Vader may have picked this up from his master, Emperor Palpatine...
Emperor Palpatine: "Strike me down with all of your hatred and your journey towards the dark side will be complete!" Video Completely By Porfle Popnecker I neither completely own nor claim any rights to this material. Just having some fun with it. Thanks for completely watching!

FAMILY FILM "ADVENTURE BOYZ" ACQUIRED BY GRAVITAS VENTURES FOR DIGITAL HD, CABLE VOD, BLU-RAY AND DVD RELEASE FEBRUARY 21, 2020
DIRECTOR HOWARD J FORD SWITCHES GEARS TO DIRECT A CHILDREN’S FILM ABOUT ONE FATHER’S MISSION TO GET HIS SONS OFF THEIR SCREENS AND OUTSIDE FOR FUN AND ADVENTURE Watch Adventure Boyz, Then Get Off Your Devices and Get Out There!
Los Angeles, CA (FEBRUARY 18, 2020) – The director of global horror-hit ‘The Dead’ and the award-winning, critically acclaimed thriller ‘Never Let Go’, Howard J Ford has taken a spectacular twist in career path to bring his first family film the screen with Adventure Boyz, which will be released by Gravitas Ventures, a Red Arrow Studios Company, on DigitalHD, Cable VOD, Blu-ray and DVD on February 21 throughout North America.
Inspired by what Howard considers to be the ‘Global Disaster’ of children focusing on device screens rather than engaging in real-life adventures, Adventure Boyz takes audiences on an unforgettable journey with thrills, spills and laughs-a-plenty.
WATCH THE TRAILER:
In Adventure Boyz, with his wife away from the family home, ex-motorcycle speedway champ Mike Harris looks forward to being active and having fun outdoors with his two young sons over the summer break. He is stunned that they just want to sit inside playing on their devices. When he encourages them to get out into the real world for exercise and adventure, little does he realize, he is about to set off a chain of events that will change their lives forever.
The boys stumble into the middle of a robbery tied to the nearby castle of a royal family member, and now a notorious crime boss and his bumbling goons are in hot pursuit. The brothers not only lead the thieves, but also the police to the family home where the boys have hidden the stolen loot they discovered.
A race against time ensues, with Dad now a suspect for the crime and Mum on the warpath, it is up to the boys to use all their physical skills to prove who the real thieves are and clear their dad’s name in time for his final speedway race!
Adventure Boyz stars Jon Campling (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Final Fantasy, Predator Dark Ages), Angela Dixon (Never Let Go, Homeless Ashes, Blacksite), Justin Hayward (Monster, 13 Graves), Russell Shaw (Sky Arts, Scummy Man, Election Night) , Glenn Salvage (Essex Heist, Aux, Beyond Fury) and introducing Rory and Felix Ford as the Adventure Boyz.
“Adventure Boyz is not only a fun and compelling story but provides an important message for its young audience: there’s adventure to be had outside beyond the screens of our phones,” said Brett Rogalsky, Acquisitions Coordinator at Gravitas Ventures.
The irony of the fact that Adventure Boyz is destined to be viewed on millions of screens and devices is not lost on Howard.
“The technology and choice available to us – and our kids - nowadays is amazing and I’m not suggesting we ever let it go altogether. I think sometimes parents and children do not even realize how little time the kids actually spend outside, being active and having fun. After watching Adventure Boyz, my dream is that parents and kids feel inspired to then go and do something amazing together, get some air in their lungs, get moving, and not just drift onto the next thing on our screen; it’s all about balance,” said Howard.
Howard was driven to create Adventure Boyz because of his own children, Rory (9) and Felix (7), and their usage of hand-held devices. In keeping with the theme of the movie, making the movie became a family-affair and a real-life adventure for the father and his sons.
Howard asked his sons to list everything they would want to see in a movie. They listed all sorts of things from ‘Outsmarting Criminals’, ‘Motorbike action,’ ‘Finding Treasure,’ ‘BMXing,’ ‘Bullies getting their comeuppance,’ and ‘Getting the girl’! By the next morning, Howard had written a synopsis with all of that, plus more kid-approved plot ideas and lots of action. Then there was nothing he could do other than write the script, direct the film, and cast his sons in the roles they helped create.
“If I were a carpenter, I’d have made them the best tree house I could, but I’m a filmmaker, so what else could I do?” asked Howard.
“On its UK theatrical release, many families came to the cinema two or three times to see Adventure Boyz and parents everywhere seem to be supporting the film’s message and we’re starting to hear reports of families doing more stuff together after seeing the film” said Howard.
“I felt I had to do something urgently to remind my own kids, and perhaps millions of others, that there was more to life than just playing the latest addictive game. It’s been widely reported that children worldwide are falling into ‘device addiction’, with apparently some young people spending up to 10 hours a day on social media! I wanted to encourage and inspire all of us to get outdoors more, exercise and re-connect with each other,” said Howard.
ADVENTURE BOYZ is produced & directed by Howard J Ford. Co-producer is Alicia Ford. Music by Imran Ahmad & theme song 'Running Free' by Smitha. Howard J Ford is represented by David Gersh, The Gersh Agency.
“I’m developing ‘Adventure Boyz 2’ and ‘Adventure Girlz,’ but first I’m back to something more adult with a thrilling female-driven cliffhanger of a movie called ‘The Ledge’!” added Howard.
ADVENTURE BOYZ will be available on Blue Ray and DVD and streaming services including: AMAZON PRIME, ITUNES. GOOGLEPLAY, MICROSOFT, AT&T/DIRECT TV, VUDU, COMCAST, SPECTRUM, COX, DISH, VERIZON, FRONTIER, SUDDENLINK, MEDIACOM, ARMSTRONG, WOW, ROGERS, SHAW, FANDANGO NOW

First Photos from "THE DEEP ONES" Wash Ashore Lovecraftian Thriller is the Latest Frightfest From Cult Director Chad Ferrin
Los Angeles, CA -- Independent horror filmmaker Chad Ferrin (Parasites, The Ghouls, Someone's Knocking at the Door) has debuted the first photos from his eighth film The Deep Ones, a Lovecraftian take on Rosemary's Baby. A married couple rents a beachside dream home, only to be surrounded by peculiar neighbors and bizarre occurrences. They soon discover they are in the crosshairs of a mysterious cult and their ancient sea god.
The cast of The Deep Ones includes Johann Urb ("Arrow"), Gina La Piana, Robert Miano, Silvia Spross, Jackie Debatin, Nicolas Coster, Rachel Pringle, Jerry Irons, Robert Rhine, Jon Mack, Bulet Rush, Timothy Muskatell, Kelli Maroney (Chopping Mall, Night of the Comet) and Kurt Carley (the Underworld franchise, Roland Emmerich's Godzilla).
Behind the scenes, Ferrin is joined by producers Gina La Piana, Robert Miano and Jeff Olan, composer Richard Band (Re-Animator, From Beyond), director of photography Jeff Billings, makeup effects artist Jim Ojala (Deadgirl, Strange Nature) with key art by Nenad Gucunja. The Deep Ones is executive produced by Michael Schefano, Richard Pate, Gerry Karr and Zebadiah DeVane.
"H.P. Lovecraft must be smiling down on us," Ferrin shared, "as this has been the most blessed film experience of my 25 years of doing what I love. And I thank the cast and crew from the bottom of my heart for going above and beyond all expectations."
After suffering an untimely loss, Alex (La Piana) and her husband Petri (Urb) visit California for a much-needed break from reality. At an unassuming rental, they meet the mysterious Russell Marsh (Miano). Marsh introduces them to the oddly enthusiastic locals, fixes them a lavish meal and invites them out on his luxury boat.
Little do they know that beneath Mr. Marsh's thin veneer of avuncular charm lurks a dark devotion to an archaic evil. A wickedly warped twist on the classic Cthulhu mythos, The Deep Ones is what it looks like when Rosemary's Baby undergoes the Innsmouth Transformation.
