To Star In The Supernatural/Sci Fi Thriller Feature Film
(New York, NY, August 3, 2021) - Principal Photography on The Last Call commences August 9, 2021 in Morristown, NJ. The supernatural-psychological thriller stars Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Bruce Davison, Rachel True ("The Craft") and Tony Award nominated and multiple Emmy Award winner, Keith David.
Directed by Mike Sargent and written by Mike Kuciak, the feature is being produced by Michael Alden, Ian Holt and Mike Kuciak of Alt House Productions in partnership with PFG Films. Special Effects Make-Up will be designed by the legendary Vincent J. Guastini. Sound Design is by Academy Award winning Sound Editor Cecelia Hall.
After what appears to be a cult mass suicide, a documentary filmmaker, DR. AMARA ROWEN (True), is contacted by the surviving members of 'The Hidden Wisdom Cult' in the hope she will be able to uncover the truth. Unfortunately, Amara's connection with the group could unwittingly make her the next victim.
Founded by respected physics professor DR. JOSEPH CAWL (Davison), Hidden Wisdom has gained tens of thousands of followers in dozens of countries with claims to be capable of supernatural power and the ability to cure seemingly incurable mental health difficulties.
DR. LEONARD BERTRAM (David), Joseph's former colleague, is convinced that Joseph is actually evil and plans to use the power of Hidden Wisdom to change reality as a whole. But someone or some thing has decided that the only way to save the world is to cut out the cancer and kill the last survivors of Joseph's group. Amara and the survivors have to fight for their lives so this does not become for them...THE LAST CALL.
BIOGRAPHIES
BRUCE DAVISON
Born on June 28, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bruce developed a burgeoning interest in acting while majoring in art at Penn State and after accompanying a friend to a college theater audition. Making his professional stage debut in 1966 as Jonathan in Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mama's Hung You in the Closet and I'm Feelin' So Bad at the Pennsylvania Festival Theatre, he had made it to Broadway within just a couple of years (1968) in the role of Troilus in Tiger at the Gates at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre. The year after that he was seen off-Broadway in A Home Away from Home and appeared at the Lincoln Center in the cast of King Lear. His film career kicked off after he and a trio of up-and-coming talents (Barbara Hershey [then known as Barbara Seagull], Richard Thomas and Catherine Burns) starred together in the poignant but disturbing coming-of-age film Last Summer. From this he was awarded a starring role opposite Kim Darby in The Strawberry Statement and in the cult horror flick, Willard in which he bonded notoriously with a herd of rats. In the 1970's, he starred in Ulzana's Raid with Burt Lancaster, Short Eyes, Mame, The Jerusalem File, Mother, Jugs & Speed, Grand Jury and Brass Target. On television, Davison starred in the mini-movie productions of Mourning Becomes Electra, Deadman's Curve, Summer of My German Soldier, as a German prisoner of war in the American South who falls for a lonely Jewish-American girl, Harry and the Hendersons, the revival of Knight Rider, The Last Resort and A&E's Those Who Kill. Some of his recurring roles have been on The Practice, The L Word, Seinfeld, Kingdom, Mozart in the Jungle, The Blindspot and ABC Family's The Fosters. Bruce continued to earn strong theatrical roles in The Skin of Our Teeth, The Little Foxes and A Life in the Theatre. He won the Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for his work in Streamers in 1977. The 1980s was dominated by theater. Bruce took over the role of the severely deformed John Merrick as The Elephant Man on Broadway; portrayed Clarence in Richard III at the New York Shakespeare Festival; was directed by Henry Fonda in The Caine Mutiny Court Martial; played a moving Tom Wingfield opposite Jessica Tandy's Amanda in The Glass Menagerie and received a second Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for his work in the AIDS play The Normal Heart.
Other films worth mentioning: Kiss My Grits, Crimes of Passion, Spies Like Us, and The Ladies Club, Six Degrees of Separation starring Will Smith, the family adventure film Far from Home: The Adventures of Yellow Dog and the box-office hit X-Men. He starred in Dahmer, as serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer's father, Hate Crime, as a bigoted, murderous pastor, and the drama Longtime Companion, earning an Oscar nomination for "Best Supporting Actor" and winning the Golden Globe, Independent Spirit, New York Film Critics and National Society of Film Critic's awards. In 2021, Bruce was cast in the award-winning hit Netflix series Ozark with a strong six-episode arc.
RACHEL TRUE
Rachel True is a tried and true actress who is best known for her iconic role in the cult classic The Craft. The NY native broke into the business with guest appearances on The Cosby Show, Hanging with Mr. Cooper, and Dream On. Rachel went on to land lead roles in CB4 opposite Chris Rock and Half Baked opposite Dave Chappelle. Rachel was the co-lead of UPN's Half and Half which is now streaming on Netflix and drawing a new fan base. Currently based in L.A. and represented by Stride Management, Rachel True recently released True Heart Intuitive Tarot, a book of personal essays, tarot deck and guidebook which allows readers to use their intuition to connect to the cards.
KEITH DAVID is a classically trained actor, multiple Emmy Award winner and Tony Award nominee. This September, Keith narrates Ken Burns' Ali, a documentary about the life of Muhammed Ali, premiering on PBS. In October, Amazon/Blumhouse releases Black as Night in which he has a starring role. Keith is currently shooting the limited series From Scratch (Netflix) with Zoe Saldana. This fall, Keith commences rehearsals for the new Broadway play Thoughts of a Colored Man which opens on October 31 at the John Golden Theater. Born and raised in New York City, Keith is a graduate of the New York High School of the Performing Arts and the Juilliard School. His expansive film credits include 21 Bridges, Night School, Disney's The Princess and the Frog, Requiem for a Dream, Men at Work, They Live, Crash, There's Something About Mary, The Thing, Platoon and many others. Keith completed five seasons starring in "Greenleaf" for Oprah Winfrey's OWN network. Other TV credits include "NCIS: New Orleans," "Blackish," "MacGyver", "Fresh Off the Boat," "Community," "Enlisted," and "Mister Rogers Neighborhood." His voice over work has earned him three Emmys for narrating Ken Burns' "Jackie Robinson," "The War," and "Unforgivable Blackness - The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson." Some of his other voice acting credits include "Adventure Time," "Bojack Horseman," "Rick & Morty," "Spawn," and "Gargoyles." On Broadway, he starred in Seven Guitars and Jelly's Last Jam (Tony nomination). As a singer, Keith has toured for the past several years with Too Marvelous for Words, in which Keith recreates a live Nat King Cole stage show. Keith is currently creating a show about legendary blues singer Joe Williams.
MIKE SARGENT
Mike Sargent has worked behind the camera in a variety of ways as a Producer, Screenwriter, Director, Composer, Sound Designer & Storyboard artist. A graduate of the High School of Art & Design and Parson's School of Design as an Illustrator, Mike Sargent started his career in Theatre and Film as a sound designer. He was awarded the prestigious Audelco Award for excellence in Sound Design. As an Illustrator he also done storyboards for film projects as diverse as horror film Brain Damage by Frank Henenlotter, thrillers Illegal Tender & The Ministers by Franc. Reyes, and most recently two projects for John Leguizamo. In 1997 his short film, The Lesson, premiered to critical acclaim at the Visions of New Black Filmmaker's Festival. Mike Sargent's writing and directing debut feature film, Personals (aka Hook'd Up) starred Malik Yoba (of "NY Undercover" and Why Did I Get Married) and Stacey Dash (of the film and TV show Clueless), and featured the film debut of comedian Jim Gaffigan. Personals was the opening night film at Los Angeles' Pan African Film Festival in 1999. The Los Angeles Times called the film "both entertaining and provocative." In the world of film criticism, Mike was the host and creator of Arise On Screen, Arise Networks weekly global movie review & interview program notably the first ever African-American hosted film review television show. He is also a founding member and co-President of the Black Film Critics Circle (BFCC). Sargent is chief Film Critic for WBAI Radio and host of daytime film review program, Reelsword, and WBAI's popular late-night radio show, NITESHIFT. Mike teaches filmmaking at the Museum of the Moving Image for the Afrikan Poetry Theater and is currently completing BAD BOYS: A Documentary, an in-depth, investigative film that examines why women and society in general are in love with 'bad boys' and have been throughout history.

Vincent James Guastini started his own special make-up effects company at the age of 22, originally in New Jersey and New York for 15 years, and then later in Hollywood for 19 years. Specializing in prosthetics, creature effects, design, and animatronics. CECELIA HALL
Cece Hall is an Academy Award winning sound designer and teacher who has been an advocate for visionary filmmakers for more than twenty years. She was the first woman to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Sound Effects Editing for Top Gun and she went on to win the Oscar for The Hunt for Red October, a film for which she also received a British BAFTA nomination. Hall has been nominated for numerous Motion Picture Sound Editor Golden Reel Awards, winning for both Something So Right and Top Gun. Hall began her career as an independent editor before landing at Paramount Pictures, where she was the first woman to be hired in the sound-editing department. After successfully Supervising many feature films, she was promoted to Senior Vice-President of Post Production Sound, where she oversaw numerous projects including The Hours, Stop-Loss, The Italian Job, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger and the EB White classic Charolotte's Web. Additionally, she worked with Paramount's subsidiary companies, Vantage, MTV and Nickelodeon shepherding the sound design for films such as Nacho Libre, Get Rich Or Die Tryin', Black Snake Moan, and Academy Award winner Hustle & Flow. Her collaborative and creative approach to sound has spawned lasting creative relationships with many of today's most respected filmmakers, including Scott Rudin, Peter Weir, Jerry Bruckheimer, Tony Scott and Tim Burton. In 1995, Hall was invited to teach at the UCLA Graduate School of Theatre, Film and Television/Media and she is still the only professor teaching sound design. In addition to teaching at UCLA, Hall has taken residencies at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and California State University, Monterey as well as numerous panels and seminars on sound design. She describes her work in the classroom as the natural extension of her work as a Sound Designer, finding it more creative and inspiring. Along with teaching, Hall now works independently as a sound consultant. Her work varies from creative counseling, to handpicking and supervising sound teams for independent features. Hall recently completed work on the HBO film A Small Act, which garnered an Emmy nomination and the Humanitas Prize.

Ian is the co-author, with Dacre Stoker, of the international best seller, "Dracula The Un-Dead", the official sequel to Bram Stoker's classic 1897 novel, Dracula. To date, "Dracula The Un-Dead" has sold more than two million copies worldwide, it was #9 on the New York Times Bestseller List, the #5 Paperback, and was #1 in France, Germany and Spain, and nominated for "Best First Horror Novel" by The Thriller Awards. Ian wrote and produced the supernatural thriller, "Episode 50", co-produced by Ehud Bleiberg and Compound B. "Episode 50" opened theatrically in the UK, throughout Europe and the Middle East, and hit all other global markets and the US. Most recently, Ian penned and will produce the horror feature "Cursed" starring Mickey Rourke and Lindsay Lohan, directed by Steven R. Monroe ("I Spit On Your Grave," "The Haunting of Mary Hartley"). Ian is also producer of the horror feature "Death Metal" now in post-production.
MICHAEL KUCIAK - Writer, Producer Founder/Partner of Alt House Productions
Michael Kuciak served as the Senior Vice President of Development for a management production company, after which he left to focus on his own work. Mike is the writer-director-editor of "Death Metal", a feature film currently in post-production. He also served as a producer on a horror-comedy called, "Killer Party", and executive producer on "All for Nikki", a thriller. Mike has directed a variety of short films and music videos. His award-winning horror short, "Stairs," is making the festival rounds. Mike is also an author; "Dead City Chicago," the first in a series of zombie horror-thriller novels, was released in 2020. Mike is a partner of Alt-House Productions (which has Mickey Rourke and Lindsey Lohan attached to star in the forthcoming supernatural thriller, "Cursed"), and is the founder/CEO of a physical production company, Blast Furnace Media.
