"Halloween" takes place in Haddonfield, Illinois...
...but was filmed in southern California.
The trees are noticeably green.
The film crew scattered dead leaves everywhere to simulate autumn.
The leaves were then swept up and reused for the next shot.
But perhaps the biggest clue that this is California and not Illinois...
...are the palm trees.
