HBO Celebrates The Launch of "The Knick: The Complete First Season" with Free Interactive Digital Book

In the Peabody Award-winning hit Cinemax series "The Knick"...

Dr. John Thackery (Golden Globe nominee Clive Owen) is a brilliant surgeon working on the cutting edge of modern medicine. Unfortunately, it's the year 1900 and the cutting edge is still a bit rusty.

From director and executive producer Steven Soderbergh, The Knick: The Complete First Season will be available for download August 3 on Digital HD, a full week before its Blu-ray/DVD street date.  The series takes viewers behind the scenes of The Knickerbocker hospital in New York City, where Dr. Thackery and his team push boundaries to discover experimental medical breakthroughs.

In order to celebrate the launch, HBO Home Entertainment has created a free interactive digital book available exclusively at iTunes chronicling Soderbergh's post-production process and conversations with Cinemax as the first season took its final shape. The Knick: Anatomy of a Series includes full scripts of the first season and is annotated with post-production notes chronicling the back-and-forth process of putting the season together.

A full season download of The Knick: The Complete First Season at iTunes, Google Play and Vudu also includes an extensive behind-the-scenes look at the first season, including interviews with Clive Owen, André Holland and other cast members.
