Momo: The Sam Giancana Story details the life of a tough, impoverished kid who rose through the ranks of Chicago’s underworld to become a top member—many say the real godfather—of the most ruthless gangland organization in the country: The Outfit.
The film provides incredible new evidence and insight into Giancana’s connections with the Kennedy family – how he delivered three states to ensure JFK’s election and later personally arranged for the President’s assassination.
Featuring never-before-seen home videos shot by Giancana himself, the film also exposes Giancana’s affair with Marilyn Monroe and potential role in her death, as well as his participation in a covert CIA plan to take down Castro in Cuba.
It also showcases the Giancana daughters - Bonnie Giancana and Fran Giancana - speaking about their father publically for the first time in 30 years, offer insight into Sam Giancana as he was at home.
Directed and produced by Dimitri Logothetis and produced by Nicholas Celozzi, the great nephew of Giancana, Momo paints a richly detailed portrait of an infamous crime boss, a loving husband and father, and a generous friend and neighbor. A man who loved power, loved the limelight, and loved his family – all in equal measure.
Momo: The Sam Giancana Story is the first film to be released by the new, combined U.S. distribution label Synergetic Distribution & The G-Machine, Inc., a collaboration recently announced by owners Ron Gell and Anatol Chavez. Gell & Chavez will also be releasing theatrically in the U.S. TAG, starring Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Superbad, Kick Ass, Role Models) and the The Silent Army (Un Certain Regard) in early 2014.
