Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Season 2 DVD Review

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was a show that despite having a devoted fanbase was canceled after only two seasons due to poor ratings. Its attempt to expand the Terminator mythos via TV was an interesting idea that few people thought would work. However, thefurther adventures of John and Sarah Connor and their new terminator turned guardian was certainly an enjoyable experience for its short lifespan. The final season arrives on DVD and Blu-Ray from Warner Brothers Home Video allowing fans the chance to complete the series and send off of a great show with an excellent DVD package.

Video: The show is 1:78:1 Anamorphically enhanced and spots generally excellent video quality. There are no print defects of any type or errors brought about by digital encoding. In short the picture on Terminator is great and helps enhance an already great program.

Audio: The DVD has an excellent 5.1 Dolby soundtrack that conveys both the action, music and the dialogue quite well without one drowning out the other. Since this show is heavily based on action having a great sound mix is a huge plus.

Extras: Terminator is loaded with a ton of extras. Besides the usual commentary (on 4 episodes), deleted scenes, and gag reel there is an excellent and fairly lengthy 8 part featurette about the making of the show. Since the show was not picked up for a third season, this may be the closest thing fans will get to a comprehensive documentary about the show. The extras go above and beyond the call of normal extras and make a great show an amazing DVD package.

Overview: While it is a shame that Terminator did not get picked up for a third seasons, fans can console themselves with having the full second season on DVD and some excellent extras. If you are a fan of the show this is a must buy.
